Dayron Robles (born 19 November 1986) is a Cuban track and field athlete who specialises in the 110 metre hurdles. He won his first major medal (a silver) in the 60 metres hurdles at the 2006 World Indoor Championships. He finished the 2006 season having improved his outdoor best to 13 seconds and become the Central American and Caribbean Games champion. Pan American gold came the following year in which also set a meet record of 12.92 seconds at the 2007 IAAF World Athletics Final – making him the joint fourth fastest ever. He reached the pinnacle of his event in 2008 by setting a world record of 12.87 seconds in June at the Golden Spike Ostrava meet, and winning an Olympic gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics in 12.93 seconds. Injury ruled him out for much of 2009, but he returned strongly with a championship record win at the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships. Dayron Armando Varona Suarez (born February 24, 1988) is a Cuban former professional baseball outfielder. Career Suarez played for Camagüey in the Cuban National Series (CNS) through 2013, while also playing for the Naranjas de Villa Clara in 2012. He was suspended from CNS play in November 2013 for an attempted defection. He successfully defected from Cuba the next week and signed a minor league contract with the Rays in March 2015. The Rays assigned him to the Charlotte Stone Crabs of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League in May, and was promoted to the Montgomery Biscuits of the Class AA Southern League. During President Barack Obama's March 2016 visit to Cuba, Varona played for the Rays against the Cuban national team at the Estadio Latinoamericano in Havana. Dayron Capetillo (born 11 September 1987) is a retired Cuban athlete who specialised in the sprint hurdles. He represented his country at the 2009 World Championships and 2010 World Indoor Championships reaching the semifinals on both occasions. In addition, he won a bronze medal at the 2009 Central American and Caribbean Championships. Day'Ron Yusha Sharpe (born November 6, 2001) is an American professional basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the North Carolina Tar Heels. High school career Sharpe began his high school career playing for South Central High School in Winterville, North Carolina. As a sophomore, he averaged 14.3 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. Sharpe averaged 16.5 points and 10.7 rebounds per game as a junior, helping South Central finish with a 30–1 record and win the NCHSAA Class 4A state title. He announced he was transferring to Montverde Academy for his senior season.
