Dayna Cussler
Dayna Gayle Cussler is an American film producer, screenwriter, costume designer, and film actress. She is also the daughter of novelist Clive Cussler. Cussler has worked on several films starting in 1987, mostly on sci-fi productions. Her first films were '' The Alamo: Thirteen Days to Glory'' and '' Barfly'', both in 1987. Through the 1990s she worked on numerous film projects, including ''Philadelphia Experiment II'' and '' Hellraiser: Bloodline''. In 2000 she produced her first film, '' 2 on U'', which she wrote, produced, and starred in opposite Micky Levy, Tomas Arana, and Tom Novak. Sahara (2005 Film)
''Sahara'' is a 2005 action-adventure film directed by Breck Eisner based on the best-selling 1992 novel of the same name by Clive Cussler. It stars Matthew McConaughey, Steve Zahn and Penélope Cruz, and follows a treasure hunter who partners with a WHO doctor to find a lost American Civil War Ironclad warship in the Sahara Desert. The film was shot in 2003 on-location in Morocco as well as in the United Kingdom. It became notable for its many production issues, including doubling its production budget from $80 million to $160 million, lawsuits among the crew, and being accused of several violations of international law. Plot summary In 1865, a week before the surrender of Confederate forces of Robert E. Lee, the Confederate Navy ship '' CSS Texas'' is being loaded at a dock with crates supposedly filled with documents. The ship's captain, Mason Tombs, has been ordered to take the ship past a Union blockade and to any neutral harbor where she should dock until summoned by a courier. At the last minute the secretary of the Confederate navy and an admiral arrive and mention that he will be taking a prisoner on board.
