Dayeene
DaYeene was a Swedish soul/house music group, active in early 1990s. The group consisted of the sisters Jeanette and Diane Söderholm. Diane had previously been vocalist in the Swedish synthpop band, Freestyle. The duo was one of many new Swedish acts associated with the early 1990s Nordik beat scene that specialized in urban music. Notable artists were Papa Dee, Kayo, Rob'n'Raz, and Titiyo. DaYeene guest featured on most of these artists' albums. They were signed to the label SweMix, one of the very early Swedish labels specializing in urban music. The duo got started when SweMix co-founder StoneBridge did a remix for Frankie LaMotte in 1989, and needed backing vocalists. He loved their voices and signed the sisters. While the first single, "We're On This Case", was a Salt-n-Pepa inspired hip hop track with the two sisters rapping, the majority of their output was soulful club music. Freestyle (Swedish Band)
Freestyle was a Swedish pop music, pop band formed in 1979. The best known line-up comprised Tommy Ekman, Christer Sandelin, Joakim Hagleitner, Gigi Hamilton, Anders Uddberg and Kayo Shekoni, but Kayo left the group with the release of the fourth single "Vill ha dej" and was replaced by Diane Corinne Söderholm, a half-sister of Rita Marley. The most notable hits of the group include "Vill ha dej", "Fantasi", "Ögon som glittrar" and "Rider omkring". "Vill ha dej" (also spelled "Vill ha dig") stayed on top of the Swedish Singles Chart for five consecutive weeks and was covered by Swedish solo project Drömhus in 1998. Freestyle disbanded in 1983 with Ekman, Sandelin and Hamilton continuing as Style (Swedish band), Style. Söderholm formed Dayeene, DaYeene with her sister Jeanette_Söderholm, Jeanette. Cheiron Studios
Cheiron Studios () was a recording studio located in the Kungsholmen district of Stockholm, Sweden. Founded in 1992 by Denniz PoP and Tom Talomaa, it was famous for being the place where popular music acts of the late 1990s/early 2000s such as Backstreet Boys, Boyzone, Robyn, NSYNC, Britney Spears, and Westlife, produced many of their greatest hits. In addition, Cheiron Studios was also a record label (Cheiron Records) in affiliation with BMG for a while, and a music publishing service (Cheiron Songs), although those ventures were abandoned in favour of music production. After Denniz PoP's death in 1998, Cheiron closed in 2000. Talomaa and Max Martin reformed the company as Maratone, while Kristian Lundin and Jake Schulze formed The Location and David Kreuger and Per Magnusson started A Side Productions. Papa Dee
David Christopher Daniel Wahlgren (born 13 July 1966), better known by the stage name Papa Dee, is a Sweden, Swedish Rapping, rapper. His most commercially successful track is his version of the Cat Stevens song "The First Cut Is the Deepest#Papa Dee version, The First Cut Is the Deepest". Music career Wahlgren debuted in 1988 with the single "Funky Raggamuffin/Let the Music Play", a mixture of dancehall and hip hop culture, hip hop. StoneBridge (DJ)
Sten Hallström, also known by his stage name StoneBridge, is a Swedish DJ and record producer. He received international acclaim with the remix of the 1993 hit " Show Me Love" with Robin S. and his remix for " Closer" by Ne-Yo which received a 2008 Grammy nomination. StoneBridge is also a resident at Sirius XM/BPM with his show StoneBridge #bpmMix every Saturday 11pm (PST) over North America. Jeanette Söderholm, born 1967, is a Swedish singer of Jamaican origin. Jeanette and her sister Diane (ex-Freestyle) first released several club albums under the name Dayeene in 1990. Their first album was ''United Soul Power''. 'Is This Love (Compusex)' was produced by Denniz Pop and Douglas Carr at Cheiron Studios in 1994. During this time, Jeanette also worked as an in-house backing vocalist at Cheiron Studios. Rapping
