"Day In Day Out" is a single from the UK rock band Feeder, and was the first single to be taken from their second album ''Yesterday Went Too Soon''. The lyrics refer to an employee doing the same menial daily tasks, and wanting to get away from it all. Grant once said that the distorted vocal emulates that of a tannoy in a supermarket. Feeder (band)
Feeder are a Welsh rock band formed in Newport in 1994. They have released 11 studio albums, 12 compilations, four EPs and 43 singles, spending a combined total of 184 weeks on the singles and albums charts as of 2019, while accumulating 25 top 75 singles between 1997 and 2012. At their peak of commercial success, Feeder won two Kerrang! Awards in 2001 and 2003; they were inducted into their Hall of Fame in August 2019 for “Distinguished Services to Rock”. Feeder are one of the Britpop era bands to have continued success long after their peak. Yesterday Went Too Soon
''Yesterday Went Too Soon'' is the second studio album by Welsh rock band Feeder. It was released on 30 August 1999 on The Echo Label. ''Yesterday Went Too Soon'' entered the UK charts at #8, after a decent amount of critical success. The title track gave them their first top 20 single, and the album would in total give the band 4 top 50 hits. Its critical and cult appeal including slots on Top of the Pops for the first time, enabled the album to aid the band's breakthrough which was completed on the follow-up ''Echo Park''. The album gained a Silver certification in April 2001, shortly before the release of breakthrough album ''Echo Park'', and then went Gold in March 2003 after the extended commercial recognition of ''Comfort In Sound'', thus making the album an overdue commercial success sales-wise. Post-grunge
Post-grunge is a derivative of grunge that has a less abrasive or intense tone than traditional grunge. Echo Records
The Echo Label was a British record label started by Chrysalis Group in 1994, and linked with Pony Canyon in Japan. The Chrysalis Group were the original owners of Chrysalis Records, which they sold to EMI. In 2005, The Echo Label recorded a loss of over £2.0 million. The decision was taken to restructure the business at the beginning of the 2006 financial year, into an "incubator" for developing writer-artists with the intention of "upstreaming" them to a major label. The signings which resulted from this included Bat for Lashes, Steven Lindsay, Rosalie Deighton, Jacob Golden and Sarabeth Tucek. Grant Nicholas
Grantley Jonathan "Grant" Nicholas (born 12 November 1967) is a Welsh musician, and lead singer and guitarist of the rock band Feeder. Early years Nicholas was born in Newport, South Wales, but grew up in Pwllmeyric, near Chepstow. He was educated at Monmouth School. He performed in public for the first time at the age of 11 at school, and gained four O-levels (the predecessor to GCSEs), including an A grade in Art. In school, Nicholas played the trumpet, and joined his first band, Sweet Leaf (named after a song by Black Sabbath, who were his favourite band in his school years, and the first he saw play live, at the Colston Hall in Bristol). He was promised his first guitar by his parents, as an incentive to pass his exams. He received the guitar, an Aron Les Paul copy after passing them. "Suffocate" is a track by the UK rock band Feeder, re-recorded from their 1997 album ''Polythene''. It was released as an in-between single to bridge the gap between ''Polythene'' and its follow-up, ''Yesterday Went Too Soon''. Feeder later repeated this in-between single process building up to a following album, with "Just a Day" in 2001 and " Shatter" / "Tender" in 2005. Insomnia (Feeder Song)
"Insomnia" is a song by Welsh rock band Feeder, released as the second single from their album ''Yesterday Went Too Soon''. It reached number 22 on the UK Singles Chart and was at the time Feeder's fourth consecutive single to reach the top 40. When the single charted in the UK, it was their biggest hit at the time and got them on the popular now defunct UK music show "Top Of The Pops". From there the band's awareness increased and the follow-up single "Yesterday Went Too Soon" cracked the top 20 and helped the album of the same name go top 10. The Dandy Warhols
The Dandy Warhols are an American alternative rock band, formed in Portland, Oregon, in 1994 by singer-guitarist Courtney Taylor-Taylor and guitarist Peter Holmström. They were later joined by keyboardist Zia McCabe and drummer Eric Hedford. Hedford left in 1998 and was replaced by Taylor-Taylor's cousin Brent DeBoer. The band's name is a play on the name of American pop artist Andy Warhol. ''Welcome to the Monkey House'' is the fourth studio album by American rock band The Dandy Warhols. The album was recorded between September 2001 and December 2002, and released on May 5, 2003 through record label Capitol. The album was originally mixed by Grammy Award-winning soul music engineer Russell Elevado, but Capitol Records were unhappy with releasing it, instead opting for a more polished, synthpop-influenced mix by Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran. ''The Singles'' is Feeder's second UK compilation album, following the limited release b-sides album ''Picture of Perfect Youth''. The album has 18 of their UK top 40 hit single tracks (if "Shatter" and "Tender" are separately counted), with the exception of "Day In Day Out" and "Find The Colour", and includes the limited edition Arena Tour single "Comfort In Sound" and three new tracks, "Lost And Found", "Burn The Bridges" and "Save Us".
