Dawn Adams
Dawn Marie Adams (born November 6, 1964) is an American politician serving as the Delegate from the 68th District of the Virginia House of Delegates since 2018. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Adams is a nurse practitioner and small business owner as well as a former Director of the Office of Integrated Health at the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and a former Health Policy adjunct faculty at the Old Dominion University. As an openly lesbian woman, Adams is the first lesbian elected to the Virginia House of Delegates and the Virginia General Assembly. Adams is one of four openly LGBT people currently serving in the Virginia General Assembly (alongside Adam Ebbin, Mark Sickles, and Danica Roem). The 2019 Virginia House of Delegates election was held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, concurrently with 2019 Virginia Senate election, the elections for the Senate of Virginia, to elect members to the 161st Virginia General Assembly. The Virginia House of Delegates election of 2017 was held on Tuesday, November 7. All 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates were contested. The Republican Party held a 66–34 majority in the House of Delegates before the election but lost 15 seats to the Democratic Party, resulting in the Republicans holding a 50–49 advantage. After a recount, the result of the election in the 94th district was called a tie. The candidate to hold the seat was determined by random drawing on January 4, 2018, which resulted in the Republicans holding a 51–49 majority. The election was marred by electoral irregularities, such as robocalls falsely telling voters their polling places had changed and voters being assigned to the wrong district. Manoli Loupassi
George Manoli Loupassi (born June 8, 1967, in Richmond, Virginia) is an American politician of the Republican Party. From 2008 to 2018, he was a member of the Virginia House of Delegates. He represented the 68th district, comprising parts of the city of Richmond and Chesterfield County. Political career Loupassi became treasurer of the Richmond Republican Committee in 1998. He was elected to the Richmond City Council in 2000 representing the 1st district in the city's West End. Prior to 2005 the Mayor of Richmond was the City Council's chair, chosen by its members. In the 2017 Virginia elections she was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates, winning the Democratic primary for the 13th district on June 13, and the general election on November 7. Adam Paul Ebbin (born November 10, 1963) is an American politician who is the senator from the 30th District of the Virginia Senate since January 2012. A member of the Democratic Party, he was the Delegate from the 49th District of the Virginia House of Delegates from 2004 to 2012.
