Davulga, Emirdağ
Davulga is a town (''belde'') and municipality in the Emirdağ District, Afyonkarahisar Province, Turkey. Its population is 2,480 (2021). It consists of 7 quarters: Alasakalli, Sofulu, Domurlu, Hisarköy, Karakuyu and İncik. Belde
Belde (literally "town", also known as ''kasaba'') means "large village with a municipality" in Turkish. All Turkish province centers and district centers have municipalities, but the villages (and also subdistricts) are usually too small to have municipalities. The population in some villages may exceed 2000 and in such villages a small municipality may be established depending on residents' choice. Such villages are called ''belde''. Up to 2014 the number of ''belde'' municipalities was about 1400. However, on 30 March 2014 by the act no. 6360 all villages (those with and without municipality) were included in the urban fabric of the district municipalities in 30 provinces. Thus ''belde'' municipalities in 30 provinces were abolished. The number of abolished ''belde'' municipalities is 1040. Sevan Nişanyan
Sevan Nişanyan ( hyw, Սեւան Նշանեան; born 21 December 1956) is a Turkish-Armenian writer and linguist. An author of a number of books ("The Wrong Republic", "The Etymological Dictionary" and others), Nişanyan was awarded the Ayşe Nur Zarakolu Liberty Award of the Turkish Human Rights Association in 2004 for his contributions to greater freedom of speech. He is also known for his work to restore a semi-derelict village, Şirince, near Turkey’s Aegean coast. Sevan Nişanyan was given a cumulative prison sentence of 16 years and 7 months for alleged building infractions, after he criticized the government’s attempts to prohibit the prophet Muhammad's criticism in a blog entry in September 2012.
