Davis Thompson
Davis Thompson (born June 5, 1999) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. He won the 2022 Rex Hospital Open and was number one in the World Amateur Golf Ranking in 2020 and 2021. Amateur career Thompson was born in Auburn, Alabama and attended the Lee-Scott Academy, which he helped win six consecutive team state titles (2012–2017). He captured the individual state title in 2013 and 2015. He played collegiately at the University of Georgia for four seasons between 2017 and 2021, where he earned All-America First Team laurels his final two years, and was the 2021 Southeastern Conference Player of the Year. He won four individual titles at Georgia, including the NCAA Regionals in 2019 and 2021. Thompson won the 2020 Jones Cup Invitational, and was runner-up at the event in 2019 and 2020. Vincent Norrman
Vincent Oliver Norrman (born 24 December 1997) is a Swedish professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. He won the 2023 Barbasol Championship, as well as the 2023 Horizon Irish Open. As an amateur, he was part of the Swedish team winning the 2019 European Amateur Team Championship. Early life Norrman was born on Christmas Eve and grew up in Stockholm, Sweden, with his parents Eva and Claes and his sister Vendela. The top 25 players on the 2022 Korn Ferry Tour regular-season points list earned PGA Tour cards for 2022–23. Walker Cup
The Walker Cup is a golf trophy contested in odd-numbered years by leading male amateur golfers in two teams: United States, and Great Britain and Ireland. The official name is the Walker Cup Match (not "Matches" as in Ryder Cup Matches). It is organised by The R&A and the United States Golf Association (USGA). In 1921 the Royal Liverpool Golf Club hosted an unofficial contest which was followed by official annual contests from 1922 through 1924. From 1925 they became biennial, held on even-number years. After World War II they switched to odd-numbered years. They are held alternately in the U.S., and Ireland or Britain. The Arnold Palmer Cup is an annual team golf competition for college/university golfers. From 2018 it has been contested between a United States team and an International team representing the rest of the world. The teams consist of 12 men and 12 women. The teams are selected on the basis of nationality, not according to the location of the players' universities. The WGC Match Play, currently titled as the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play for sponsorship reasons, is a professional men's golf tournament that has been held since 1999. It is the only one of the World Golf Championships to have been contested using the match play format. Since 2016, it has been held at the Austin Country Club in Austin, Texas, United States. Previous names include WGC-Dell Match Play (2015), WGC-Cadillac Match Play (2014), WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship (2001–2013), and WGC-Andersen Consulting Match Play Championship (1999–2000). The Players Championship
The Players Championship (commonly known as simply The Players, stylized by the PGA Tour as The PLAYERS Championship) is an annual golf tournament on the PGA Tour. Originally known as the Tournament Players Championship, it began in 1974. The Players Championship at one point offered the highest purse of any tournament in golf ($20 million). The field usually includes the top 50 players in the world rankings, but unlike the major championships and World Golf Championships events, it is owned by the PGA Tour and not an official event on other tours.
