David Zowie
David Zowie Canada Batt (born 30 April 1981), known professionally as David Zowie, is an English DJ and record producer. He is best known for his song " House Every Weekend", which topped the UK Singles Chart in July 2015. Biography Early life and career beginnings Zowie was born in Chatham, Kent. He has stated that he was named after David Bowie, as his father was a huge fan, and was once called "David Zowie Ziggy Stardust Aladdin Sane Thin White Duke Twig The Wonder Kid" before his mother changed his name by deed poll. Zowie started producing music at age 12, when he bought a pair of wooden decks and then SoundLabs, commencing production when he was 14. Two years later he bought a pair of Technics SL-1200 from a club he was playing at. House Every Weekend
"House Every Weekend" is the debut single from British DJ David Zowie. It was released on 3 July 2015 by Virgin EMI Records. Background The song began as an embryo which Zowie produced in his studio – he found some acapellas on his PC from a Nervous Records vinyl containing part of the vocal – and was written with the intent of being a feel-good track based on the lyrics. However, the vocalist initially sung about being trapped in the house during the weekend. Zowie then flipped the lyrics to create a more positive scenario. The track's first play was at a house party with his friends. A DJ who was at the party asked for a copy of the record, and in turn played it out. This was subsequently picked up by other DJs, who used it as a warm-up track, and was used by such clubs and events as Egg, Defected and Audio Rehab. Chatham, Kent
Chatham ( ) is a town located within the Medway unitary authority in the ceremonial county of Kent, England. The town forms a conurbation with neighbouring towns Gillingham, Rochester, Strood and Rainham. The town developed around Chatham Dockyard and several Army barracks, together with 19th-century forts which provided a defensive shield for the dockyard. The Corps of Royal Engineers is still based in Chatham at Brompton Barracks. The Dockyard closed in 1984, but the remaining major naval buildings are an attraction for a flourishing tourist industry. Following closure, part of the site was developed as a commercial port, other parts were redeveloped for business and residential use, and part was used as the Chatham Historic Dockyard museum. The Irish Singles Chart is the Republic of Ireland's music industry standard singles popularity chart issued weekly by the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) and compiled on their behalf by the Official Charts Company. Chart rankings are based on sales, which are compiled through over-the-counter retail data captured electronically each day from retailers' EPOS systems. All major record shops, digital retailers and streaming services contribute to the chart, accounting for over 95% of the market. A new chart is compiled and officially released to the public by the Irish Recorded Music Association on Friday at noon. Mark Morrison (born 3 May 1972) is a British R&B singer. His single, "Return of the Mack", became a No. 1 or top 10 hit in several European countries in 1996. The song peaked at No. 2 in the United States the following year. Career Mark Morrison's first official recording was the 1993 vinyl release "Where Is Our Love", pressed on his own private Joe'Mel label. In mid-1995, Morrison released his debut single, "Crazy", which became a Top-20 hit in the UK, and was a club favourite. The follow-up single, "Let's Get Down", also entered the Top 40. Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Ultratop is a non-profit organization, created on the initiative of the Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA), the Belgian member organization of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Two parallel sets of charts are concurrently produced and published, one on behalf of Belgium's mainly Dutch-speaking Flanders region, and the other catering to the nation's mainly French-speaking region of Wallonia.
