David Wilson (Scottish Football Manager)
David Wilson (born 22 February 1974) is a Scottish football manager who is currently U23 coach for St Joseph's in the Gibraltar Intermediate League. From April 2013 to March 2015, he served as an assistant manager of the national team under head coach Allen Bula and held the position when the Gibraltar Football Association (GFA) was admitted to UEFA in May 2013. He has also managed Lions Gibraltar, Bruno's Magpies and Manchester 62. Early life Wilson was born in Redlands hospital on the west end of Glasgow, Scotland and his family moved to Pennyburn area of Kilwinning in 1985. Career Playing career During his short playing career, Wilson played for Pennyburn Boys Club, Ardeer Thistle, and Kilwinning Rangers, for which he was considered a "star" during the 1990s under head coach Jim McSherry. Kilwinning
Kilwinning (, sco, Kilwinnin; gd, Cill D’Fhinnein) is a town in North Ayrshire, Scotland. It is on the River Garnock, north of Irvine, about southwest of Glasgow. Allen Bula
Allen Bula (born 4 January 1965) is a Gibraltarian football manager and former player. He notably managed the Gibraltar national football team. Playing career As a player, he played for Gibraltar United, St Joseph's and Glacis United. Coaching career Between 2006 and 2010, he was the head of football development and academy manager at Slovakian first division club MFK Košice. While in that role he discovered several talented players, most notably Nemanja Matić, who subsequently played for Chelsea and Manchester United. Bula was appointed as the manager of the Gibraltar national team in November 2009. Between 2009 and 2013 Bula managed the national team in 47 matches, against professional teams from Spain's 2b & 2a leagues, and English Championship & League One teams. Gibraltar Second Division
The Gibraltar Second Division was the second tier of football in the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar, run by the Gibraltar Football Association (GFA). The league was founded in 1909 after the expansion of the Gibraltar Premier Division and as of the 2016-17 season contains 10 clubs. All of the sides competing are amateur. Teams in this division, along with the Gibraltar U-15 national team, enter the Rock Cup in the first round except for 3 clubs who receive byes to the second round. Promotion was not regular until 2007-08 due to the prevalence of reserve teams in the division. As of the 2016-17 season, league champions are automatically promoted, and the runners up enter a play-off with the second-from-bottom team in the Gibraltar Premier Division. Hampden Park (Scottish Gaelic: ''Pàirc Hampden''), often referred to as Hampden, is a football stadium in the Mount Florida area of Glasgow, Scotland. The UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying tournament was a football competition that was played from September 2014 to November 2015 to determine the 23 UEFA member men's national teams joining the automatically qualified host team France in the UEFA Euro 2016 final tournament. Gibraltar Division 2 Cup
The Gibraltar Division 2 Cup is a special football tournament exclusively organized for clubs participating in the Second Division. On 2 March 2017 the Gibraltar Football Association announced the signing of a sponsorship agreement with Chestertons Gibraltar, due to which the competition was renamed "The Chestertons Cup". Chestertons Gibraltar became the first sponsor of the competition since its inception. No tournament as held in 2018 due to redevelopments at Victoria Stadium, but the competition returned in the 2018–19 season.
