David Vitty
David Lloyd Vitty (born 24 April 1974) is a radio presenter working in the UK. He worked alongside Chris Moyles at BBC Radio 1, having originally been a broadcast assistant on Moyles' early morning show. He became the show's head writer and 'Director of Comedy' and moved with Moyles to the drivetime slot, and then to ''Radio 1 Breakfast'', during which time the programme was known as ''The Chris Moyles Show''. In total, he spent 14 years from 1998 to 2012 working alongside Moyles. Vitty has also presented other shows on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 5 Live, as well as some presenting work on television, including Channel 4's ''Coach Trip''. British Hong Kong
Hong Kong was a colony and later a dependent territory of the British Empire from 1841 to 1997, apart from a period of occupation under the Japanese Empire from 1941 to 1945 during the Pacific War. Greenwich Time Signal
The Greenwich Time Signal (GTS), popularly known as the pips, is a series of six short tones (or "pips") broadcast at one-second intervals by many BBC Radio stations. The pips were introduced in 1924 and have been generated by the BBC since 1990 to mark the precise start of each hour. Their utility in calibration is diminishing as digital broadcasting entails time lags. Structure There are six pips (short beeps) in total, which occur on each of the 5 seconds leading up to the hour and on the hour itself. Each pip is a 1 k Hz tone (about a fifth of a semitone above musical B5) the first five of which last a tenth of a second each, while the final pip lasts half a second. The actual moment when the hour changes – the "on-time marker" – is at the very beginning of the last pip. Dominic Byrne
Dominic Anthony Byrne (born 10 November 1972) is a British newsreader and presenter. He currently works on the Chris Moyles Breakfast show on Radio X, having previously worked as the newsreader for Capital London on the Capital FM Breakfast Show. Prior to this he worked with the BBC from 1997 to 2012, most notably as part of the on-air team on ''The Chris Moyles Show'' on BBC Radio 1 from 2004 to 2012, working as the newsreader and contributing to the show's zoo format. Byrne worked as a newsreader elsewhere on Radio 1, and presented on the BBC News Channel. He runs his own voice training business called Open Mouth Productions. He returned to the new format of ''The Chris Moyles Show'' on Radio X in 2015, reading the news. Folk Face
Folk Face were a comedy band formed in 2005 by BBC Radio 1 DJ Dave Vitty and BBC Newsreader Dominic Byrne. Mainly appearing on ''The Chris Moyles Show'', they also appeared in person at the Glastonbury Festival and at several Radio 1 events. They mainly did cover versions in a tongue-in-cheek folk music style. They appeared at the Glastonbury Festival in 2005,The Chris Moyles Show, BBC Radio 1, 20 June 2007 but disbanded soon after, only re-forming for a one-off on 20 June 2007 for ''The Chris Moyles Show'' to give away tickets for the Glastonbury Festival 2007. Byrne played guitar for the band, however Vitty played different instruments, these being the bongos in 2005 and the nose flute in 2007. Simon Andrew Hicks Mayo (born 21 September 1958) is an English radio presenter and author who worked for BBC Radio from 1982 until 2022. Mayo has presented across three BBC stations for extended periods. From 1986 to 2001 he worked for Radio 1, including a five-year stint on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show. There was a live telethon broadcast on BBC One and BBC Two from the evening of 18 March 2011 to early the following morning as well as a number of run-up events. Results Donations to Comic Relief's Red Nose Day 2011 reached £74,360,207, the largest total reached on the night in the event's 23-year history.
