David F. M. Todd (February 22, 1915March 31, 2008) was a New York City-based American architect. Todd was best known for designing the Manhattan Plaza complex and serving as chairman of the Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1989 and 1990. Early life David Fenton Michie Todd was born in Middletown, Ohio, on February 22, 1915. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1937 before receiving his bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Michigan in 1940. He married Suzanne Williams in 1942. Todd served in the United States Army in the Pacific during World War II. Career David Todd joined the Harrison, Ballard & Allen architectural firm in 1946, following the end of World War II. David Peck Todd
David Peck Todd (March 19, 1855 — June 1, 1939) was an American astronomer. He produced a complete set of photographs of the 1882 transit of Venus. Biography Todd was born in Lake Ridge, New York, the son of Sereno Edwards Todd and Rhoda (Peck) Todd. He prepared at John C. Overhiser's School in Brooklyn. He studied at Columbia University from 1870 to 1872, then at Amherst College from 1873 to 1875, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa in the class of 1875. He earned his M.A. from Amherst in 1878. He was awarded an honorary degree from Washington and Jefferson College in 1888. Todd worked at the US Naval Observatory from 1875 to 1878, and at the US Nautical Almanac Office from 1878 to 1881. From 1881 to 1917 he was a professor of astronomy and director of the observatory at Amherst College. David Todd (17 November 1928 - 16 August 2017) was a Hong Kong haematologist, the founding president of the Hong Kong College of Physicians and the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine. He was best known for transforming medical education and training in Hong Kong. Early life and education Todd was born in Guangzhou, China in 1928 to Chinese parents, but was placed in an orphanage and adopted in 1929 by American Presbyterian missionaries Paul Jerome Todd and Margaret Todd, who christened the baby David. Paul Todd was a surgeon and Margaret Todd was the head nurse at the Kung Yee Medical College (now Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences), which they founded in 1909. They also established the Todd Clinic and Hospital (now part of the Guangzhou Women And Children's Medical Center) in 1931.
