David Spriggs (footballer)
David Spriggs (born 25 January 1981) is an Australian rules footballer with the Vermont Football Club in the Eastern Football League, who formerly played for the AFL's Geelong Football Club, Sydney Swans and the Port Melbourne Football Club in the Victorian Football League. Career He was recruited as the number 15 draft pick in the 1999 AFL draft from Beaumaris. He made his debut for Geelong in Round 1, 2000 against Fremantle. He was delisted by the Cats at the end of the 2004 season and nominated himself in the 2004 AFL draft where he was picked up by the Sydney Swans for pick No. 47. He made his debut for Sydney in Round 3, 2005 against the Brisbane Lions. Spriggs failed to make a single AFL appearance in 2006, and was subsequently delisted by the Swans at the end of that season. Lonsdale is a British sports equipment, textile and footwear brand focused on boxing and mixed martial arts established in London in 1960. Former boxer Bernard Hart started the brand as a boxing equipment company, but it eventually branched out into clothing as well. Brisbane Lions
The Brisbane Lions is a professional Australian rules football club based in Brisbane, Queensland, that plays in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club was formed in late 1996 via a merger of the Melbourne-based 1883 foundation VFL club the Fitzroy Lions, and the 1987 Queensland based expansion club the Brisbane Bears, with the colours of maroon, blue, and gold being drawn from both parent clubs. Beaumaris Football Club
The Beaumaris Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in the southern suburbs of Melbourne. The club participates in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA). History Late in 1962 a meeting was held in Beaumaris RSL to form a football club for the boys and men in the local area. The club's founding coincided with the formation of the South East Suburban FL in the summer of 1963. In the 1980s the club were regular but unsuccessful finalists. In 1995 the club joined the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA), this avoided the need to pay the players. They commenced in E Grade and over a period of twenty years progressed upward to arrive in A Grade in 2017.
