David Soucy
David Soucy (born 1957) is an American politician and was a Republican member of the Vermont Senate representing the Rutland District from 2017 to 2019. He was appointed to the State Senate by Governor Phil Scott Born in Portland, Maine, Soucy graduated from South Portland High School. He attended Marist College. Soucy has been a resident of Vermont since 1997. He is a former professional golfer. Soucy serves as the head golf professional at the Country Club of Barre, in Barre, Vermont. Rutland Vermont Senate District, 2002–2012
The Rutland Senate District is one of 16 districts of the Vermont Senate. The current district plan is included in the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the United States Census, 2020, 2020 U.S. Census, which applies to legislatures elected in 2022, 2024, 2026, 2028, and 2030. The Rutland District includes all of Rutland County, Vermont, Rutland County except the town of Mount Holly, Vermont, Mount Holly, which is in the Windsor Vermont Senate District, 2012-2022, Windsor district. As of the 2010 census, the state as a whole had a population of 625,741. As there are a total of 30 Senators, there were 20,858 residents per senator. South Portland High School
South Portland High School is a public high school located in South Portland, Maine, United States. The first high school in what is now South Portland was built in 1874 while the City was part of Cape Elizabeth, Maine. The school was on the 2nd floor of a new municipal building built in 1874 until that building burnt down in 1921. The current building on Highland Avenue was erected in 1952, with a gymnasium added in 1958, an annex in 1962, and an auditorium and cafeteria in 1997. It was originally built for middle (then “junior high”) school students until the high school and middle school switched building in 1960. Renovations The current high school building has been renovated and expanded. Renovation was approved in a 2010 referendum, and groundbreaking took place in May 2012. Phil Scott
Philip Brian Scott (born August 4, 1958) is an American politician, businessman and stock car racer who has served as the 82nd governor of Vermont since 2017. A member of the Republican Party, he was elected governor in the 2016 general election with 53% of the vote. He was reelected in 2018 with 55.2% and in 2020 with 68.5% of the vote and a margin of 41%, the largest of any Vermont gubernatorial election since 1996, and the largest for a Republican since 1950. He was overwhelmingly reelected again in 2022, increasing his vote share and margin of victory, this time taking 71.3% of the vote and a margin of victory of 47%.
