David Salman
David Milton Salman (11 February 1936 – 28 February 2010) was a New Mexico, USA, state representative who was known for sponsoring the first bill for use of medical marijuana in the state. Early years David Milton Salman was born in Houston, Texas, on 11 February 1936. He was from a Jewish family that was involved in shipping in Houston. He graduated from high school in Las Vegas, New Mexico and went on to Princeton University, graduating in 1958. In 1958–59 he served in the Army Field Artillery. Salman purchased the former La Cueva Ranch in Mora County, New Mexico, which he revitalized by producing farm products, particularly raspberries. He was president of the Salman Ranch from 1960 to 2002. Salman was president of Sierra Gold Dairy for over twenty years at the same time as being a vice president of the First National Bank in Las Vegas. Las Vegas is a city in and the county seat of San Miguel County, New Mexico, United States. Mama Lucy Gang
The Mama Lucy Gang was an alliance of liberal politicians that controlled the New Mexico House of Representatives in the 1970s. The "gang" was named after a restaurant run by Mrs. Lucy Lopez. Some of the future politicians had eaten there in their student days. Poor students were never turned away hungry, but were allowed credit or given food for work. Mama Lucy was an inspiration to the future lawmakers. They were mostly members of the Democratic Party but included Republicans. They enacted reforms related to education, the environment and equal opportunity. After a short period out of power in 1979–82, their successors continued to control the House until 2000. Alamogordo () is the seat of Otero County, New Mexico, United States. The cougar (''Puma concolor'') is a large cat native to the Americas. Its range spans from the Canadian Yukon to the southern Andes in South America and is the most widespread of any large wild terrestrial mammal in the Western Hemisphere.
