The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars (or Wilson Center) is a quasi-government entity and think tank which conducts research to inform public policy. Roy Alan Rosenzweig (August 6, 1950 – October 11, 2007) was an American historian at George Mason University in Virginia. He was the founder and director of the Center for History and New Media from 1994 until his death in October 2007 from lung cancer, aged 57. Early life and education Rosenzweig was born on August 6, 1950 in New York City and was raised in Bayside, Queens. He graduated magna cum laude from Columbia College in 1971 and received a fellowship to study history at St John's College, Cambridge. He earned his Ph.D. in history from Harvard University in 1978. John Robert McNeill
John Robert McNeill (born 1954) is an American environmental historian, author, and professor at Georgetown University. He is best known for "pioneering the study of environmental history". In 2000 he published ''Something New Under the Sun: An Environmental History of the Twentieth-Century World'', which argues that human activity during the 20th century led to environmental changes on an unprecedented scale, primarily due to the energy system built around fossil fuels.
