David Rush (footballer)
David Rush (born 15 May 1971) is an English former professional footballer. He played in the 1992 FA Cup Final for his home town club Sunderland, which they lost 2–0 against Liverpool. After several loan moves, Rush made a permanent move to Oxford United for a reported £100,000. In his first full season with Oxford, he helped them to automatic promotion to Division 1 (now Championship). Following his release from Oxford, Rush had short spells with York City and Hartlepool United. On 19 May 2009, Rush was confirmed as the manager of Northern League side Hebburn Town, but resigned from his post in mid-September. On 3 January 2013, Rush was named assistant manager of Conference Premier side Gateshead, joining former Sunderland teammate Anth Smith. Sunderland, Tyne And Wear
Sunderland () is a port city in Tyne and Wear, England. It is the City of Sunderland's administrative centre and in the historic county of Durham. The city is from Newcastle-upon-Tyne and is on the River Wear's mouth to the North Sea. The river also flows through Durham roughly south-west of Sunderland City Centre. It is the only other city in the county and the second largest settlement in the North East after Newcastle upon Tyne. Locals from the city are sometimes known as Mackems. The Northern League is a men's football league in north east England. Having been founded in 1889, it is the second-oldest football league in the world still in existence after the English Football League. It contains two divisions; Division One and Division Two. Whickham
Whickham is a village in Tyne and Wear, North East England. It is in the Metropolitan Borough of Gateshead. The village is on high ground overlooking the River Tyne and south-west of Newcastle upon Tyne. It was formerly governed under the historic county of County of Durham. History Whickham underwent some expansion in the 1950s when the Lakes Estate was built just off Whickham Highway. Then later in the decade the Oakfield Estate just off Whaggs Lane was built. Darren Mark Caskey (born 21 August 1974) is an English football coach and former professional footballer. As a player, he was a midfielder who notably played in the Premier League for Tottenham Hotspur. He also played in the Football League for Watford, Reading, Notts County, Bristol City, Peterborough United and Rushden & Diamonds, in the United States with Virginia Beach Mariners and in non-league football with Hornchurch, Kettering Town, Halesowen Town, Ilkeston Town and Gateshead. Gary Roland Mills (born 11 November 1961) is an English football manager and former professional player. He played in the Premier League and Football League for Nottingham Forest, Derby County, Notts County and Leicester City and managed in the Football League with Notts County and York City. He was recently the manager of club Corby Town. Mills, who played as a right-back and as a midfielder, started his career with First Division club Nottingham Forest. He became the club's youngest league player after making his first-team debut at the age of 16 in 1978. He played in the victorious 1980 European Cup Final, which made him the youngest finalist in European Cup history. He joined the Seattle Sounders of the North American Soccer League in 1982 and played for them for one season, which culminated in a loss to the New York Cosmos in Soccer Bowl '82. Anthony Smith (born 21 September 1971) is an English former professional footballer. A defender, he previously played professionally in all three divisions of the Football League for Sunderland, Hartlepool United and Northampton Town. He began his managerial career in 2011, with non-league side Chester-le-Street Town, and also had spells managing Gateshead, West Auckland Town and Holland Park Hawks. Career Smith began his career with Sunderland, making 25 appearances in all competitions without scoring in five seasons at the club. He made 7 appearances for Hartlepool United on loan in 1992.
