David Richards (American Football)
David Reed Richards (born April 11, 1966) is a former professional American football guard who played nine seasons in the National Football League. A standout at Highland Park High School in Dallas, Texas, the 6-foot-5, 310-pound Richards was the first lineman to be named Parade Magazine's National High School Player of the Year in 1983. In college, he was an All-Southwest Conference selection at guard as a sophomore at Southern Methodist University. The following season, he earned All-SWC honors as a tackle at SMU. Prior to his senior season, the NCAA placed SMU's football program on probation and Richards transferred to the University of California, Los Angeles, for his senior season. David Richards (22 January 1751 – 12 May 1827), better-known by his bardic name Dafydd Ionawr, was a Welsh-language poet, born at Glanyrafon near Bryn-crug in the parish of Tywyn in Merionethshire (now Gwynedd), north-west Wales. He took an interest in poetry as a result of his acquaintance with Evan Evans (Ieuan Brydydd Hir), who was curate of St Cadfan's Church, Tywyn, and was later sent to a school at Ystradmeurig to obtain a better education than was available locally. After a period as a junior schoolmaster in Wrexham, he spent one term at Jesus College, Oxford, before going to teach at Oswestry grammar school. He currently serves as the co-founder and CEO of WANdisco, an Anglo-American software company specialising in distributed computing. David Richards (1956 – 20 December 2013) was an English-born Swiss-based record producer, engineer and musician. In the Mountain Studios in Montreux, owned by the rock band Queen, and in Attalens he engineered and co-produced many albums by Queen, David Bowie and other artists. Richards also played keyboards on some records. He also dealt with live music recording in such events as Montreux Jazz Festival. Richards died on 20 December 2013 after a long battle with an undisclosed illness. David Anthony Stewart Richards, Lord Richards of Camberwell, PC (born 9 June 1951) is a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom. Biography The son of Kenneth Richards, MBE and Winifred Richards, he was educated at Oundle School and Trinity College, Cambridge (BA 1973; MA 1980). He was called to the bar at Inner Temple in 1974. He was made a QC in 1992 and judge of the High Court of Justice (Chancery Division) in 2003. He was appointed as a chairman of the Competition Appeal Tribunal in 2014. He was appointed a Lord Justice of Appeal on 16 November 2015. He retired on reaching the then applicable retirement age of 70 in June 2021. General David Julian Richards, Baron Richards of Herstmonceux, (born 4 March 1952) is a retired senior British Army officer who was formerly the Chief of the Defence Staff, the professional head of the British Armed Forces. He succeeded Air Chief Marshal Sir Jock Stirrup in this role on 29 October 2010.
