David Rangel (footballer, Born 1979)
David Rangel Pastor (born 25 July 1979) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Club career Born in Valencia, Rangel graduated from his local club Valencia CF's youth system, going on to spend several years with their reserves and also being loaned to neighbouring side Burjassot CF. In the 2003–04 season he backed up Santiago Cañizares and Andrés Palop in the main squad, making his only La Liga appearance on 14 May 2004 – as the ''Che'' were already champions – in a 2–1 away loss against Villarreal CF. Rangel signed for UE Lleida of Segunda División in summer 2004, with the Catalonia team being relegated in his second season, where he played 27 of the 42 league matches. Subsequently, he resumed his career in the Segunda División B, playing mainly in his native region. Andrés Palop Cervera (; born 22 October 1973) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper, currently a manager. After having languished on the bench of hometown club Valencia for most of his stay, he became a premiere player with Sevilla well into his 30s, helping it consolidate in both the domestic and European fronts. Over 15 seasons, he appeared in 295 matches in La Liga, where he also represented Villarreal in 1998–99. Palop was selected by Spain for Euro 2008, but never earned an international cap. Segunda División B (English: second division B) was the third tier of the Spanish football league system containing 102 teams divided into five groups, until it was replaced by the new structure in 2021.
