Sir David Pollock (2 September 1780 – 22 May 1847) was a British judge in India. Born in London, David Pollock was the eldest son of David Pollock, saddler, of Charing Cross, by Sarah Homera, daughter of Richard Parsons of London, receiver-general of customs. He was of Scottish extraction, his grandfather, John Pollock, having been a native of Tweedmouth. Field-Marshal Sir George Pollock and Sir Jonathan Frederick Pollock, Lord Chief Baron of the Exchequer, were his brothers. He was educated at St. Paul's School and the University of Edinburgh, but did not graduate. On 28 January 1803 he was called to the bar at the Middle Temple. Pollock practised as a special pleader on the Home Circuit, at the Kent sessions, and in the insolvent debtors' court. David Pollock (born 19 March 1987 in Omagh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland) is a retired rugby union player. He played for Ulster Rugby in the Celtic League and represented Dungannon RFC who play in the AIB League. Pollock's position of choice was as an Open Side Flanker. David Stephen Geoffrey Pollock, 3rd Viscount Hanworth (born 16 February 1946), is a British professor and a Labour elected hereditary peer. Hanworth was educated at Wellington College and has taken a DPhil degree at the University of Sussex. He is currently Professor of Econometrics and Computational Statistics at the University of Leicester, where he lectures in Mathematical Statistics, Econometrics and Environmental Sciences. Pollack (born June 19, 1982) is a former professional American football linebacker who played in two seasons in the National Football League (NFL), having suffered a career-ending injury in the second game of his second season. He played college football for the University of Georgia, was a three-time All-American, and was recognized as the top college defensive player in the nation.
