David Nyström (musician)
David Nyström (born February 21, 1980) is a former Swedish professional ice hockey player who played in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) and Norwegian GET-ligaen. Nyström was drafted in the eighth round of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers, but he never played professionally in North America. He spent the first eight seasons of his professional career in Sweden, playing parts of two seasons in the SHL with Frölunda HC and Södertälje SK, and five of his final six seasons in Norway, playing for Vålerenga and Frisk Asker Idrettsforeningen Frisk Asker is a Norwegian sports club from Asker, Akershus. Winger, in the game of ice hockey, is a forward position of a player whose primary zone of play is along the outer playing areas. They typically flank the centre forward. Originally the name was given to forward players who went up and down the sides of the rink. Wingers generally have the least defensive responsibilities out of any position on the ice, however they are still tasked with defensive duties such as forechecking duties or covering the point in the defensive zone. Nowadays, there are different types of wingers in the game — out-and-out goal scorers, checkers who disrupt the opponents, and forwards who work along the boards and in the corners. The 1999 NHL Entry Draft was the 37th NHL Entry Draft. It was held on June 26 at the FleetCenter in Boston. According to ''Sports Illustrated'' and other sports news agencies, at the time the 1999 draft was considered one of the deepest in talent in years, headed by Patrik Stefan and the Sedin twins, Daniel and Henrik. As a result of the draft lottery, the first three picks going into draft day were held by the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Atlanta Thrashers expansion team, and the Vancouver Canucks, respectively. The Canucks were determined to select both Sedins and therefore initiated a trading carousel involving multiple teams. After the trading was done, the Lightning had traded out of the first round altogether while the Thrashers held the first overall pick. However, Atlanta had also agreed not to draft either of the Sedin twins. The Thrashers therefore selected Stefan while the Canucks used the second and third picks to select the Sedins. Lars-Fredrik Nyström (born August 10, 1949) is a retired Swedish ice hockey player. He started his professional career in Skellefteå AIK where he played until 1977 when he joined Djurgårdens IF Djurgårdens Idrottsförening, commonly known simply as Djurgårdens IF, Djurgården (), and (especially locally) Djurgår'n (), Dif or DIF – is a Swedish sports association with several sections, located in Stockholm. Name The club is named .... He ended his playing career after the 1981–82 season in the same club. During the following season Nyström became assistant coach to head coach Gunnar Svensson.
