David Muskhelishvili
David Levan Muskhelishvili (born October 19, 1928) in Tbilisi, Georgia. A member of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences. An academic of Georgian history, David Muskhelishvili is the nephew of the late Georgian-French political scientist and jurist Michel Mouskhely. Educated at Tbilisi State University, earned his degree in History in 1952. It was named Georgian SSR Academy of Sciences until November 1990. Michel Mouskhely
Michel Mouskhely (Mouskheli) born Mikheil Muskhelishvili ( ka, მიხეილ მუსხელიშვილი) (8 July 1903 – 11 July 1964) was a Georgian-French political scientist and jurist. Born in Tbilisi, Georgia, then part of Russian Empire, Muskheli emigrated to Western Europe following the Red Army invasion of Georgia in 1921. He then studied at Göttingen, Munich, Lyons, and Paris. After his brief work for the University of Paris (1932–33), he lectured at the University of Cairo from 1935 to 1948. In 1948, he became a Professor of International Law and of Political and Economic Sciences at the University of Strasbourg. Mouskhely organized and directed a center for Soviet studies at the Strasbourg law faculty which began in 1960 publication of abstracts from the principal Soviet periodicals dealing with the social sciences. Ivane Javakhishvili
Ivane Alexandres dze Javakhishvili ( ka, ივანე ჯავახიშვილი; 23 April 1876 – 18 November 1940) was a Georgian historian and linguist whose voluminous works heavily influenced the modern scholarship of the history and culture of Georgia. He was one of the founding fathers of the Tbilisi State University (1918) and its rector from 1919 to 1926. Biography Ivane Javakhishvili was born in Tbilisi, Georgia (then part of Imperial Russia) to the aristocratic family of Prince Alexander Javakhishvili, who served as an educator at the Tbilisi Gymnasium. Having graduated from the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the St. Petersburg University in 1899, he became a ''privat-docent'' of the Chair of Armenian and Georgian Philology at his alma mater. From 1901 to 1902, he was a visiting scholar at the University of Berlin.
