David Mirra
David Mirra (born 20 March 1991) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Hawthorn Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Following his AFL career, he joined Collegians Football Club in the VAFA competition. VFL career As a young player who was no longer eligible for junior football, Mirra joined the in the Victorian Football League (VFL) in 2010. In his first season with the club, he played just one senior game, spending the rest of the season playing in the development team which won the premiership. From 2011 onward, Mirra was a regular senior player for Box Hill. He became a solid and dependable defender and had been selected for the VFL in state representative matches on three occasions. The Victorian Football League (VFL) is an Australian rules football league in Australia serving as one of the second-tier regional semi-professional competitions which sit underneath the fully professional Australian Football League (AFL). It includes teams from clubs based in the eastern states of Australia: Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, and includes reserves teams for the east coast AFL clubs. Daniel Pratt (born 21 March 1983) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for both and in the Australian Football League (AFL), and a former coach of in the AFL Women's (AFLW) and West Australian Football League (WAFL) competitions. Football career Pratt was taken at pick 42 in the 2000 National AFL Draft from the Northern Eagles in the AFL Queensland league to the Kangaroos. In Australian sport, the best and fairest award recognises the player(s) adjudged to have had the best performance in a game or over a season for a given sporting club or competition. The awards are sometimes dependent on not receiving a suspension for misconduct or breaching the rules during that season. In the Australian Football League (AFL), the Brownlow Medal is awarded to the player who, provided he has not been suspended during the season, receives the most votes from the umpires for being the Fairest and Best player in games during the home and away season. In each game, the umpires award three votes to the player they judge to be the best afield in that game, two votes to the second-best player and one vote to the third-best player.
