David Mills (born January 24, 1959) is an American author. Mills has argued that science and religion cannot be successfully reconciled. He is best known for his book ''Atheist Universe'' which was published in 2004. In his book ''The God Delusion'', evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins cites Mills' writings as "admirable work." Mills claims in his books to rebut both young- and old-earth creation science, as well as Intelligent Design.D. David Hume Mills (29 January 1926 – 30 November 2020) was a Canadian bass singer, poet, composer and actor. He had an active international singing career that spanned more than five decades. He has published two books of poetry, ''Isobelle, a Novel in Verse'' (Toronto 1989) and ''The Social Comedy'' (Ottawa 1990). He wrote a one-man show, ''David Mills – His Poetry and Songs'', which premiered in Toronto in 1989 and then toured to numerous Canadian cities in the early 1990s. As a composer he has written a cantata, ''Vision of Peace'' to texts from the Book of Isaiah, and several art songs to the poetry of Pauline Johnson and Robert Browning. As an actor, he has appeared on CBC TV and in films for Circle Films and Atlantis Films among other production companies. Mills was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on 29 January 1926. David Mills, (March 18, 1831 – May 8, 1903) was a Canadian politician, author, poet and puisne justice of the Supreme Court of Canada. He was born in Palmyra, in southwestern Upper Canada (now Ontario). His father, Nathaniel Mills, was one of the first settlers in the area. Mills served as superintendent of schools for Kent County from 1856 to 1865. He then attended the University of Michigan School of law, graduating with honors in 1867 with an LL.B degree. He published ''The Present and Future Political Aspects of Canada'' in 1860 and ''The Blunders of the Dominion Government in connection with the North-West Territory'' in 1871. Mills was first elected to the House of Commons of Canada as a Liberal Member of Parliament (MP) in the 1867 federal election and re-elected in four subsequent votes until being defeated in the 1882 election. David Cecil Mills (23 April 1937 – 16 March 2013) was an English cricketer. Mills was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium pace. He was born in Camborne, Cornwall and educated at Clifton College, where he represented the college cricket team. Mills made his only first-class appearance for Gloucestershire against Cambridge University in 1958. In his match, he scored 17 runs, before being dismissed by Michael James, in what was his only batting innings for the county. He later made a further first-class appearance in 1960, this time for the Free Foresters against Cambridge University. In this match, he once again batted once, scoring 2 runs before being dismissed by David Kirby. Mills studied mechanical engineering at Emmanuel College, Cambridge and would go on to invent a non-slip plastic called Dycem which is used worldwide as a disability aid. He was the executive editor of the journal ''First Things'' and was the editor of '' Touchstone'' magazine from 2003 to 2008.
