David McLean (actor)
David McLean (May 19, 1922 in Akron, Ohio – October 12, 1995 in Culver City, California) was an American film and television actor, best known for appearing in many Marlboro television and print advertisements beginning in the early 1960s. Early years McLean was born as Eugene Joseph Huth in Akron, Ohio. Career McLean's acting career began on stage with work in little theater plays. Following military service in World War II, he acted in productions in Los Angeles in addition to drawing sketches and cartoons. In addition to his commercial work for Marlboro cigarettes, McLean starred as the title character in the NBC western television series, ''Tate'', which was a summer replacement for half of Perry Como's program in 1960. He also appeared in numerous television programs and feature films of the 1960s and '70s, including a leading role in the 1961 movie ''X-15'', the directorial debut of Richard Donner, and films such as ''The Strangler'' (1964), ''Nevada Smith'' (1966), ... David McLean (footballer, Born 1884)
David McLean (3 February 1884 – 14 February 1951) was a Scottish association footballer and manager. McLean played as a Winger. Player McLean was born in Buckhaven, Fife. He played for Buckhaven United, Cambuslang Rangers, Celtic, Ayr United and Cowdenbeath. He first joined East Fife in 1911 as player-manager. Manager East Fife and Bristol Rovers After joining East Fife as player manager he led them to victory in the Scottish Qualifying Cup Final in 1920-21. East Fife were admitted to the Scottish Football League in 1921 and reached the 1927 Scottish Cup Final. McLean was appointed manager of Bristol Rovers in 1929. He left after just over a year. He and returned to East Fife in 1931. McLean led them to victory over Kilmarnock in the 1938 Scottish Cup Final. Heart of Midlothian Hearts appointed McLean manager on a five-year contract in June 1941. He played a significant role in rebuilding the club during the Second World War. David Prophet McLean (13 December 1890 – 21 December 1967) was a Scottish footballer who played as a striker, scoring consistently throughout his career. At club level he represented Celtic, Preston North End, Sheffield Wednesday, Third Lanark, Rangers, Bradford (Park Avenue), Dundee and Forfar Athletic. He had one cap for Scotland. David McLean (footballer, Born 1957)
David John McLean (born 24 November 1957) is an English footballer who played as a central midfielder. He started his career with hometown club Newcastle United but found opportunities limited. McLean moved on to Carlisle United but established himself as a regular when he signed for Darlington in 1979. McLean enjoyed a successful seven-year stay at Darlington. A key player in midfield, he helped the side win promotion under Cyril Knowles in 1985. He moved on to Scunthorpe United in 1986, and later joined Whitley Bay. In 2003, he was voted as part of Darlington's all-time XI to coincide with the club's departure from Feethams. David McLean (rugby League)
David McLean (born 5 October 1977) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played for the Balmain Tigers and the Penrith Panthers in the NRL. Playing career A Parramatta junior, McLean was graded by the now defunct Balmain Tigers in 1997. He made his first grade debut from the bench in his side's 30−16 loss to the Newcastle Knights at Leichhardt Oval in round 23 of the 1998 season. This was his only game of first grade for Balmain. The Tigers finished the season in 13th position and folded at the end of following the season. McLean remained at Balmain during the 1999 season, but did not make any appearances in first grade. Balmain controversially merged with rivals the Western Suburbs Magpies to form the Wests Tigers as part of the NRL's rationalization strategy. David McLean is a Scottish advocate and cricket umpire. He is a member of the Development Panel of ICC Umpires. McLean played as a wicket-keeper in local domestic cricket in Scotland, becoming an umpire in 2014. He stood in his first One Day International (ODI) match, between Scotland and Sri Lanka on 21 May 2019. He stood in his first Twenty20 International (T20I) match, between Scotland and the Netherlands on 16 September 2019.
