David McKenzie (economist)
David McKenzie is a lead economist at the World Bank's Development Research Group, Finance and Private Sector Development Unit in Washington, D.C. His research topics include migration, microenterprises, and methodology for use with developing country data. McKenzie is also a contributor to the World Bank's Development Impact blog and affiliated with the International Growth Centre and Innovations for Poverty Action. Biography McKenzie received his B.A. (B.Com.) from the University of Auckland in New Zealand and his Ph.D. in economics from Yale University. He spent four years as an assistant professor at Stanford University before joining the World Bank. He is currently on the editorial boards of the Journal of Development Economics, World Bank Economic Review, Journal of Economic Perspectives, and Migration Studies. David Charles McKenzie (born 30 May 1933) is a former Australian politician. Born in Melbourne, he was a teacher before entering politics. He was involved in local politics as a member of Diamond Valley Shire Council, of which he was president 1969–71. In 1972, he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the member for Diamond Valley, defeating Liberal MP Neil Brown. David Colin McKenzie (born 3 September 1970) is a British track and field athlete who won the gold medal in the 4 x 400 metres relay at the 1994 Commonwealth Games held in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, along with teammates, Peter Crampton, Adrian Patrick, and Du'aine Ladejo. Early life McKenzie attended Ingram High School in Croydon, South London and trained with Croydon Harriers. On 11 Aug 1985 at Crystal Palace, just one month shy of his fifteenth birthday, he ran a time of 49.97s for the 400 metres, at the time the second fastest ever time for an under-15 athlete, and as at 2008 was still the third fastest time. Senior career He reached his all-time peak on 12 June 1994 when he ran 45.47s at Sheffield for Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers. This earned him a solid place in the England team for the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, British Columbia. David McKenzie (born 6 August 1974) is an Australian former racing cyclist. He won the Australian national road race title in 1998. McKenzie's biggest victory came on stage 7 of the 2000 Giro d'Italia where he rode to victory after a 164 km solo breakaway. McKenzie won the Goulburn to Sydney Classic in 2005. He now works as a cycling journalist and commentator for Australian broadcaster SBS.
