David Magowan
David Magowan (born 4 October 1983) is a former footballer from Northern Ireland who played as a defender. Club career After being released after three years at Glentoran, 'Mags' joined Bangor, spending a successful season there, before signing for Crusaders in the summer of 2003. He initially established himself as first choice centre-back, but was loaned out to Comber Recreation in 2006, and it looked like his Crusaders days may have been at an end, yet managed to re-establish himself in the side. He scored his first Crusaders goal on 20 December 2008 against Dungannon Swifts. and his second against Coleraine F.C. on 23 November 2013. He missed the 2009 Irish Cup final due to suspension. Despite this, he was still named in the 2008–09 Irish League Team of the Year, along with teammates Colin Coates, Gareth McKeown, and Martin Donnelly. Setanta Cup
The Setanta Sports Cup was a club football competition featuring teams from both football associations on the island of Ireland. Inaugurated in 2005, it was a cross-border competition between clubs in the League of Ireland from the Republic of Ireland and the NIFL Premiership from Northern Ireland. Steel & Sons Cup
The Steel & Sons Cup (also referred to as the Steel Cup) is an intermediate football competition in Northern Ireland run by the North East Ulster Football Association (also known as the County Antrim & District Football Association). The competition culminates in the final which has traditionally been played on 25 December (except when this date falls on a Sunday). The 2006 final, however, broke with tradition when it was staged on the Saturday before 25 December as this was a closed date for all other football fixtures in Northern Ireland. The final returned to its original Christmas Day slot in 2007-08. The 2012–13 tournament was declared null after Glentoran II were stripped of their title having fielded an ineligible player in an earlier round. The Northern Ireland Football League Championship (known as the Lough 41 Championship for sponsorship reasons) is the second level of the Northern Ireland Football League, the national football league in Northern Ireland. Clubs in the Championship can be promoted to the highest national division - the NIFL Premiership, and relegated to the third level - the NIFL Premier Intermediate League. County Antrim Shield
The County Antrim & District Football Association Senior Shield (more commonly known as the County Antrim Shield) is a football competition in Northern Ireland. The competition is open to senior teams who are members of the North East Ulster Football Association (also known as the County Antrim & District Football Association) (membership of which extends geographically beyond County Antrim itself), often plus intermediate teams who qualify via the Steel & Sons Cup, depending on the numbers required. For the 2010–11 and 2011-12 seasons, only the winners took part. The current Shield champions are Larne, who beat Linfield 1–0 in the 2021–22 final, winning the trophy for a second successive year. 2011–12 Irish League Cup
The 2011–12 Irish League Cup (known as the Irn-Bru League Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 26th edition of the Irish League Cup, Northern Ireland's secondary football knock-out cup competition. The competition was contested by the 12 members of the IFA Premiership, as well as the 30 members of the IFA Championship. The competition began on 27 August 2011 and ended with the final on 28 January 2012. Lisburn Distillery were the defending champions, following a 2–1 victory over Portadown in the previous season's final. However, they were eliminated in the Third Round by Crusaders. The Northern Ireland Football League Cup (BetMcLean League Cup for sponsorship purposes), also known colloquially as the Irish League Cup, is a national football knock-out cup competition in Northern Ireland open to all member clubs of the Northern Ireland Football League. It is the third-most prestigious competition in domestic Northern Irish football after the NIFL Premiership and Irish Cup.
