David John Haskins (born 24 April 1957, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England), better known as David J, is a British alternative rock musician, producer, and writer. He is the bassist for the gothic rock band Bauhaus and for Love and Rockets. He has composed the scores for a number of plays and films, and also wrote and directed his own plays, ''Silver for Gold (The Odyssey of Edie Sedgwick)'', in 2008, which was restaged at REDCAT in Los Angeles in 2011, and ''The Chanteuse and The Devil's Muse'' in 2011. His artwork has been shown in galleries internationally, and he has been a resident DJ at venues such as the Knitting Factory. David J has released a number of singles and solo albums, and in 1990 he released one of the first No. 1 hits on the then nascent Modern Rock Tracks charts, with "I'll Be Your Chauffeur". Sir David Philip Lane (born 1 July 1952) is a British immunologist, molecular biologist and cancer researcher. He is currently working in the Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology at the Karolinska Institute and iChairman of Chugai Pharmabody He is best known for the discovery of p53, one of the most important tumour suppressor genes. Education Lane completed his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at University College, London where he studied auto-immunity under the supervision of Avrion Mitchison. Career and research Lane carried out postdoctoral research first at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) in London with Lionel Crawford and then at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York with Joseph Sambrook. David Lane is a British television and film director, best known for his association with series produced by Gerry Anderson's AP Films. Lane directed several episodes of ''Thunderbirds (TV series), Thunderbirds'' (1965–66), including "Attack of the Alligators!", as well as the two films ''Thunderbirds Are Go'' (1966) and ''Thunderbird 6'' (1968). He also worked on Anderson's other series up to ''UFO (TV series), UFO'' (1970–71) and ''Gerry Anderson's New Captain Scarlet'' (2005), and would go on to collaborate with Anderson stalwart Derek Meddings on several other projects including ''Superman (1978 film), Superman'' (1978). Biography Ian started out as an actor and appeared in a number of UK theatre productions, including the musicals ''The Pirates of Penzance'', '' Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat'', and ''The Rocky Horror Show''. David Campbell Lane (June 17, 1927 – September 15, 1997) was an American neurosurgeon who served in the Florida Senate. He was a Republican Party. The Florida Archives have a photographs of him including one where he wears a "bald is beautiful" button. He was born in Medford, Massachusetts. He joined the United States Navy at the age of 17 and served for two years. He received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Tennessee in 1948 and his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 1951. Lane was educated at Eton College, Trinity College, Cambridge and Yale University. He became a barrister, called to the bar by Middle Temple in 1955. David Steadmond Lane (born 12 May 1965) is a former West Indian cricketer. Lane was a right-handed batsman who fielded as a wicket-keeper. He was born on Montserrat. In 2006, Montserrat were invited to take part in the 2006 Stanford 20/20, whose matches held official Twenty20 status. Lane made his Twenty20 debut for Montserrat in their first-round match against Guyana, with their first-class opponents winning the match by 8 wickets. Lane scored 6 runs in Montserrat's innings, before he was run out by the combination of Neil McGarrell and Mahendra Nagamootoo.
