David Keith (racing Driver)
David Keith (December 27, 1973 – October 22, 2020) was an American professional stock car racing driver and spotter. Racing career Keith started racing go-karts at age nine and went on to win multiple championships. He went on to race in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series and the NASCAR Busch Series. Death Keith died on October 22, 2020, at the age of 46. Owensboro is a home rule-class city in and the county seat of Daviess County, Kentucky, United States. It is the fourth-largest city in the state by population. 2000 Pocono 500
The 2000 Pocono 500 was the fifteenth stock car race of the 2000 NASCAR Winston Cup Series. It was scheduled for June 18, 2000, but was held on June 19, 2000 due to inclement weather at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania. The 200-lap race was won by Jeremy Mayfield for the Penske Racing team. Dale Jarrett finished second and his Robert Yates Racing teammate Ricky Rudd came in third. The race, originally scheduled for June 18, was delayed to June 19 due to persistent rain and enveloping fog. Mayfield won the race by bumping Earnhardt out of the way on the last corner of the last lap. There were five cautions and twenty-four lead changes among eleven different drivers during the course of the race. The NASCAR Cup Series has held stock car races annually at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan since 1969. Traditionally, the track held two Cup Series races, one in June, around Father's Day weekend and another in August. The August race was not held in 1973 after track owner Roger Penske replaced the race with a Champ Car event.
