David Kandilas
David Nicholas Kandilas (born 14 September 1990) is a retired Australian professional baseball outfielder who last played for the Mannheim Tornados of the Baseball Bundesliga in 2019. He has played for the Sydney Blue Sox and Canberra Cavalry in the Australian Baseball League (ABL) and has been a member of the Australian National Baseball team since 2009. Career Kandilas hit for the cycle in Ogden, Utah on 25 June 2011 whilst playing for the Colorado Rockies Rookie+ level affiliate, Casper Ghosts. This was the first cycle hit in the Pioneer League since 2007. Kandilas hit for the cycle again in 2011 in Melbourne, Australia on 30 December playing for the Sydney Blue Sox against the Melbourne Aces. Sydney Blue Sox
The Sydney Blue Sox are a professional baseball team, and one of eight foundation teams in the re-formed Australian Baseball League (ABL). The team plays their home games at Blacktown International Sportspark (BISP), one of the two venues used for baseball at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, when it was known as Blacktown Olympic Park. The Blue Sox hosted the league's Opening Day for the inaugural season on 6 November 2010, when they played against the Canberra Cavalry, and won the game 1–0. The Blue Sox are the only team in the Australian Baseball League to implement sabermetrics as a way to run their team with volunteer statistician, Anthony Rescan. 2017 World Baseball Classic
The 2017 World Baseball Classic (WBC) was an international professional baseball competition, composed of 16 competing nations, held from March 6 to March 22, 2017. It was the fourth iteration of the World Baseball Classic. The first-round hosts were Seoul, Tokyo, Miami, and Zapopan. Pacific Coast League
The Pacific Coast League (PCL) is a Minor League Baseball league that operates in the Western United States. Along with the International League, it is one of two leagues playing at the Triple-A (baseball), Triple-A level, which is one grade below Major League Baseball (MLB). The Colorado Springs Sky Sox were a Minor League Baseball team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Texas League
The Texas League is a Minor League Baseball league which has operated in the South Central United States since 1902. It is classified as a Double-A league. Despite the league's name, only its five South Division teams are actually based in the state of Texas; the five North Division teams are located in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. The league was founded in 1888 and ran through 1892. It was called the Texas Association in 1895, the Texas-Southern League in 1896, and again as the Texas League from 1897 to 1899. Modesto Nuts
The Modesto Nuts are a Minor League Baseball team of the California League and the Single-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. They are located in Modesto, California, and are named for the several types of nuts grown in the region. They play their home games at John Thurman Field, which opened in 1955.
