David Jamieson (British Politician)
David Charles Jamieson (born 18 May 1947) is a British politician who served as the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner from 2014 to 2021. A member of the Labour Party, he was previously the Member of Parliament (MP) for Plymouth Devonport from 1992 to 2005 and a Solihull Metropolitan Borough Councillor from 2010 to 2014. Early life and career Born in Solihull, England, he was educated at Tudor Grange Grammar school, and later at St Peter's College, Saltley, Birmingham. Before becoming an MP, he was a teacher at Riland Bedford School and later a head of Mathematics at Crown Hills Community College between 1970 and 1981, before becoming the senior vice principal of the John Kitto Community College in Plymouth (1981–1992). David Jamieson (Canadian Politician)
David Edgar Jamieson (February 3, 1856 – September 12, 1942) was a physician and politician in Ontario, Canada. He was speaker of the Legislature of Ontario from 1915 to 1919 and served as Conservative MLA for Grey South from 1898 to 1919 and from 1923 to 1926. He was born to a Scottish immigrant, William Jamieson, in Puslinch Township, Ontario. Jamieson was educated in local schools and went on to study medicine at the University of Toronto. Upon graduation in 1878, he moved to Durham and set up practice there. He was also president of the Durham Furniture Company. He was elected to the Durham town council in 1883 and was elected reeve in 1884 and 1885. Jamieson was an unsuccessful candidate for the Grey South seat in the Canadian House of Commons in 1887, losing to Liberal George Landerkin. He was first elected to the provincial assembly in 1898. David Jamieson (VC)
Major David Auldjo Jamieson, (1 October 1920 – 5 May 2001) was a British Army officer in the Second World War who received the Victoria Cross, the highest award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. Early life David Auldjo Jamieson was born in Westminster on 1 October 1920, the elder son of Sir Archibald Auldjo Jamieson, Chairman of Vickers Armstrong. He attended Ladycross School, Seaford, East Sussex, and Eton College. In his youth he spent time at the family holiday retreat in Norfolk. He was a volunteer in the Territorial Army unit at Dersingham for the 5th Battalion, Royal Norfolk Regiment, which he joined in May 1939 when the Territorial Army was doubled in size. David Jamieson (rugby Union)
David Jamieson (born in Scotland) is a Scottish former rugby union player who played for Glasgow Warriors at the tighthead prop position, although he can also play hooker. Rugby Union career Amateur career Jamieson's rugby career spanned the amateur and professional era. In 1995 before professionalism was introduced in Scotland – Scotland would take up professional rugby a year later for the 1996–97 season – he was playing for West of Scotland. He subsequently signed for the Glasgow Warriors. Whilst not involved with the professional provincial Glasgow side in the 1997–98 season, Jamieson played amateur rugby with Stirling County. In 2000, he was back at West of Scotland and played at the opening of West's new stand at Burnbrae. Ewan Jamieson
Air Marshal Sir David Ewan Jamieson, (19 April 1930 – 21 March 2013) was a senior commander in the Royal New Zealand Air Force. He was Chief of the Air Staff from 1979 to 1983, and Chief of the Defence Staff from 1983 to 1986. Early life Jamieson was born on 19 April 1930 in Christchurch. His father was Raymond Douglas Jamieson (1906–1982), who was later the chief judge of the Arbitration Court. His mother was Florence Ethel Jamieson ().
