David Hopkins (writer)
David Hopkins (born May 1, 1977) is an American comic book writer and essayist. His works include ''Karma Incorporated'' and '' Emily Edison'' from publisher Viper Comics, '' Astronaut Dad'', and a comic book adaptation of ''Antigone'' with frequent collaborator artist Tom Kurzanski. He writes a regular comic feature for D Magazine called '' Souvenir of Dallas'' with artist Paul Milligan. David is a contributor to the Smart Pop Series from BenBella Books. He is the co-host and co-producer of Fanboy Radio's Indie Show, that showcases independent and small press comics. David lives in Arlington, Texas with his daughter Kennedy. Career David Hopkins first professional writing was after college in 2002. Aja Jones asked him to write a stage play for her theatre troupe to be performed at the University of Texas at Arlington. David Hopkins (musician)
David Hopkins (born 18 January 1971) is an Irish singer-songwriter and producer, originally from Dublin, Ireland and currently residing in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. He was the original keyboardist for Irish alternative rock group LiR. LiR (1990s) Hopkins launched his music career playing keyboard in the Dublin rock band LiR. The original lineup was David McGuiness on vocals, Robert Malone on bass, Ronan Byrne on guitar, David Hopkins on keyboards and Craig Hutchinson on drums. The band came together at the Ballyfermot Rock College, and were known as the Spontaneous Frogs before settling on the name Lir. The group signed to What Are Records and released ''Magico, Magico'', which went to No. 1 on the alternative albums chart and scored a UK top 10 hit, "In A Day," penned by Hopkins. David Charles Hopkins (born 11 February 1957) is a former English cricketer. Hopkins was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium pace. He was born in Birmingham, Warwickshire. Hopkins made his first-class debut for Warwickshire against Somerset in the 1977 County Championship. He made 35 further first-class appearances, the last of which came against Yorkshire in the 1981 County Championship. In his 36 first-class matches, he scored 332 runs at an average of 10.37, with a high score of 34 not out. With the ball, he took 53 wickets at a bowling average of 38.13, with best figures of 6/67. These figures, his only five wicket haul in first-class cricket, came against Somerset in the 1979 County Championship, a season in which he took 27 wickets at an average of 32.81, which was his most successful season in first-class cricket.
