David Hewson (composer)
David Graham Hewson (born 25 November 1953 in Wandsworth, London, England) is a British composer of scores for television and films. His work includes a collaboration to develop scores for ITV News. Hewson works from his composing studio in East Sussex. At Trinity College of Music, Hewson was a pupil of Richard Arnell. They worked together on films including ''Dilemma'' (1981), ''Doctor in the Sky'' (1984), ''Toulouse-Lautrec'' (1986), and ''The Light of the World'' (1989). Hewson has written several works with Brian Sibley. Background and education Hewson began composing at the age of 11, influenced by his primary school music education, which had been based entirely on the Schulwerk. This influence stayed with David and shaped a lot of his much later music. During his time in primary school, he also started to receive piano lessons from the renowned classical concert pianist and teacher Christine Gough. Techno Twins
The Techno Twins (later known simply as The Technos) were a British electronic music duo formed in London. Career The band, consisting of husband-wife duo Steve Fairnie and Bev Sage, formed in 1977. In the 1990s, ''Mixmag'' magazine credited the Techno Twins with coining the phrase 'techno' and starting the techno music revolution. Separating from the band Writz, the duo decided that they would combine old songs with modern electronic sounds, and in December 1982 they were signed by PRT Records. Their debut single was a cover of " Falling in Love Again", and the song received airplay and critical acclaim from the press. It peaked at No. 70 on the UK Singles Chart, their only appearance in any UK chart. Simon May (born 15 August 1944) is a British composer. He has composed many British television theme tunes, including ''EastEnders'' and ''Howards' Way'', and the music for the 1988 film ''The Dawning''. Biography Born in Devizes and a pupil of Dauntsey's School, May was a choral scholar at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, where he graduated with a degree in modern languages in 1965. While teaching languages and music at Kingston Grammar School, he co-wrote a musical named ''Smike'' with a colleague, history teacher Clive Barnett and songwriting partner, Roger Holman. Following the publicity ''Smike'' attracted, May was contacted by the BBC, who televised the play in 1973, starring Beryl Reid and Andrew Keir. Jacqueline Graham (born 15 September 1956) is a British singer-songwriter. Following her hit version of "Could It Be I'm Falling in Love" with David Grant in 1985, Graham scored a further five UK top 20 hits over a two-year period.
