David Hayman Jr.
David Hayman Jr. is a Scottish film director. Life and career David Hayman Jr. left school at the age of 16 to study a sports coaching course in Glasgow. By the time Hayman was 18, he got involved in a media programme called the Govan Initiative which gave him his first taste of film production. In 2014, after working on various production roles on ''River City'', he was offered the chance to direct his very first episode of the television series. In the same year, Hayman began working on directing his first feature film ''Wasted Time''. The film tells the story of a Glaswegian prisoner at Barlinnie Prison who is wrongly accused of a crime he did not commit. River City
''River City'' is a Scottish television soap opera that was first broadcast on BBC One Scotland on 24 September 2002. ''River City'' follows the lives of the people who live and work in the fictional district of Shieldinch. In November 2017, a short crossover episode of the show was made for '' Children in Need'' and featured several of the show's characters meeting characters from Scottish sitcom ''Scot Squad''. In March 2020, production of ''River City'' was halted due to the COVID–19 pandemic, and filming recommenced in August 2020. Barlinnie Prison
HM Prison Barlinnie is the largest prison in Scotland. It is operated by the Scottish Prison Service and is located in the residential suburb of Riddrie, in the north east of Glasgow, Scotland. It is informally known locally as The Big Hoose, Bar and Bar-L. In 2018, plans for its closure were announced. History Barlinnie was designed by Major General Thomas Bernard Collinson, architect and engineer to the Scottish Prison Department, and it was built in the then rural area of Riddrie adjacent to the Monkland Canal (now the route of the M8 motorway), first opening with the commissioning of A hall in July 1882. The Glasgow Film Festival is an annual film festival based in Glasgow, Scotland. The festival began in 2005. The Slab Boys
''The Slab Boys Trilogy'' is a set of three plays by the Scottish playwright John Byrne. The trilogy was originally known as ''Paisley Patterns''. The three plays which make up the trilogy are: ''The Slab Boys'', ''Cuttin' a Rug'', and ''Still Life''. The trilogy tells the story of a group of young, urban, working-class Scots during the period 1957–1972. David Hayman
David Hayman (born 9 February 1948) is a Scottish film, television and stage actor and director, known for his role as DCS Mike Walker in ITV drama ''Trial & Retribution'', as Jonas Franks in BBC period drama '' The Paradise'' and as Brace in the drama ''Taboo''. Life and career Hayman was born in Bridgeton, Glasgow, Scotland. After studying at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, he began his acting career at the Citizens Theatre in the city.
