David Glass (businessman)
David Dayne Glass (September 2, 1935 – January 9, 2020) was an American businessman. He was president and chief executive officer of Walmart Stores, Inc. He was also an owner and chief executive officer of the Kansas City Royals. Early life The son of Marvin Glass and Myrtle Van Winkle, Glass was born on a farm in Oregon County, Missouri, and grew up in Mountain View, Missouri. He served in the United States Army from 1954 through 1956, then attended Southwest Missouri State College (now Missouri State University) in Springfield, Missouri, Springfield. Career with Walmart David Glass joined the company in 1976. In his position as Executive Vice President of Finance for Wal-Mart Stores, he administered the overall financial and accounting responsibilities of the company prior to his appointment as vice chairman and chief financial officer. David Glass (Canadian Politician)
David Glass (July 20, 1829 – July 17, 1906) was a Canadian lawyer and political figure. He was a Conservative Member of Parliament representing Middlesex East from 1872 to 1874. He was born in Westminster Township, Middlesex County, Upper Canada in 1829, the son of Samuel Glass, who had come to Upper Canada from Ireland in 1819, and Eliza Owrey. In 1856, he married Sarah Dalton. Glass was called to the bar in 1864 and set up practice in London. He served on London City Council and was mayor in 1858 and 1865–1866. In 1876, he was named Queen's Counsel. He moved to Winnipeg in 1882, was called to the Manitoba bar later that year and was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba for St. Clements in 1886, serving from 1887 to 1888; he was also Speaker of the Legislative Assembly from 1887 to 1888. David Glass (Israeli Politician)
David Glass ( he, דוד גלס, 16 October 1936 – 16 August 2014) was an Israeli civil servant and politician who served as a member of the Knesset for the National Religious Party between 1977 and 1981. Biography Born in Balfouria during the Mandate era, David Glass was educated at a yeshiva high school, before studying law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he was certified as a lawyer. In 1956 he began working as an assistant to the director of the Religious Education Centre. In 1960 he became director of the Bureau of the Minister of Religious Affairs, before becoming director of the Department of Karaites and Samaritans in 1964. Between 1966 and 1969 he worked as an assistant to the Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs. From 1969 to 1971 he was Deputy Director for Special Functions in the Religious Affairs Ministry, before becoming the ministry's deputy director in 1971 and then director in 1974.
