David Furman (athlete)
David D. Furman (November 22, 1917 – February 14, 2008) was an American lawyer and judge who served as New Jersey Attorney General and New Jersey Superior Court judge. Biography Furman was born in 1917 in New York City. He was raised in South Orange, New Jersey and attended Phillips Exeter Academy, graduating in 1935. He received his A.B. degree from Harvard College in 1939. From 1939 to 1948, he worked as an electric furnace helper and metallurgist for the Duraloy Company and Carnegie-Illinois Steel Corporation in Pennsylvania. He attended New York University School of Law, where he was editor-in-chief of the ''NYU Law Review''. After graduating in 1950, he served as a law clerk to Judge Nathan L. Jacobs and then as a clerk on the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division. From 1951 to 1954, he was an associate with the Newark law firm Stryker, Tams & Horner. New Jersey Attorney General
The attorney general of New Jersey is a member of the executive cabinet of the state and oversees the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety, Department of Law and Public Safety. The office is appointed by the governor of New Jersey, confirmed by the New Jersey Senate, and term limited. It is the only state where the attorney general is apppointed as opposed to elected. Under the provisions of the New Jersey State Constitution, the Attorney General serves a concurrent term to the governor (starting on the third Tuesday of January following the election and ending on the third Tuesday following the next election). Matt Platkin became the acting officeholder on February 14, 2022, following his nomination by Governor Phil Murphy. Bedminster, New Jersey
Bedminster is a township in Somerset County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States census, the township's population was 8,165, reflecting a decline of 137 (−1.7%) from the 8,302 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 1,216 (+17.2%) from the 7,086 counted in the 1990 Census. It is located in the Raritan Valley region within the New York Metropolitan area. Bedminster was settled in 1710 by Dutch, Germans, and Scots-Irish immigrants. It was named after Bedminster, then in Somerset, England, and now a district of Bristol. Bedminster Township was created by Royal charter on April 4, 1749, from portions of the Northern precinct. It was incorporated formally by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 21, 1798. Grover is a blue Muppet character on the popular PBS/HBO children's television show ''Sesame Street''. Self-described as lovable, cute and furry, he is a blue monster who rarely uses contractions when he speaks or sings. Grover was originally performed by Frank Oz from his earliest appearances. Eric Jacobson has performed the character regularly from the year 2000 onwards. Origins A prototype version of Grover appeared on ''The Ed Sullivan Show'' on Christmas Eve in 1967. This puppet had greenish-brown fur and a red nose. He also had a raspier voice – somewhat like Cookie Monster's – and was played a bit more unkempt than Grover would later behave.
