David Fisher (I)
David Fisher (I) (26 December 1760 – 6 August 1832) was an English actor and theatre manager. Biography Fisher came from a family of farmers from Hethersett, near Norwich, who had been farming there for about 100 years. His father, David Fisher (1729–1782), a craftsman, and his mother Mary, née West (1730–1819) lived in Norwich. Fisher was born on 26 December 1760. He was the eldest son and the third of the eleven children. After he had finished school he trained as a carpenter. He performed in some amateur dramatics. As he was handsome, and had a fine tenor voice, he attracted the attention of Giles Barrett, the manager of the Norwich Theatre Royal. After a trial appearance he was engaged by Barrett as a singer. During the 1780s Fisher's fame in and around Norwich grew and by 1788, he felt secure enough to marry. David Fisher (1946 – 21 March 2013) was an award-winning English artist and designer based in Midsomer Norton, Somerset. He was a prolific designer and painter of pub signs before securing a unique commission to create vast murals to improve UK service stations. He has won many awards including the Holburne Museum of Art's portrait award. His work has been praised by Victoria Glendinning, Humphrey Ocean RA and John Leighton, Director of the National Galleries of Scotland. Early life From 1961–1966 he served an apprenticeship as a signwriter and decorator for F.Speed and Sons in Midsomer Norton. David Fisher (December 3, 1794 – May 7, 1886) was a U.S. Representative from Ohio. Biography David Fisher was born in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, and moved with his parents to Point Pleasant, Ohio in 1799. He pursued preparatory studies and became a lay preacher and newspaper contributor. Fisher served as member of the State house of representatives in 1834 and later was an unsuccessful candidate for governor in 1844. In 1846 he was editor and proprietor of a newspaper in Wilmington, Ohio. Fisher was elected as a Whig to the Thirtieth Congress (March 4, 1847 – March 3, 1849) and was not a candidate for renomination in 1848. While in Congress he occupied a seat next to John Quincy Adams, who fell into his arms when stricken with paralysis. Fisher returned to Cincinnati, Ohio where he resumed newspaper activities and was city magistrate in 1849 and 1850. Biography Fisher was born in July 1816 at East Dereham, Norfolk, the first child and only son of David Fisher (II) (1788–1858), actor, musician, and painter, and his first wife F. B. Bane (1788/9–1818). East Dereham, was a town on a circuit established by his grandfather (David Fisher (I) (1760–1832)), and managed by his father and his uncle. An accident to his leg disqualified him for the stage, and he appeared as principal violinist at local concerts.
