David Farrance
David Farrance (born June 23, 1999) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman who is currently under contract with ERC Ingolstadt of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Farrance was selected by the Nashville Predators in the third-round, 92nd overall, of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. Early life Farrance was born on June 23, 1999, in Victor, New York, U.S. to parents Pam and David Farrance. He is the middle child with one older sister, Sydney Farrance and one younger sister, Julia Farrance . Farrance grew up playing baseball but was ultimately drawn to ice hockey because of its speed and action. He worked on his skating ability alongside his friend Jake Tortora with a power-skating instructor at Paul Louis Arena. The 2021–22 AHL season is the 86th season of the American Hockey League. The regular season began on October 15, 2021, and is scheduled to end on April 30, 2022. The regular season is typically followed by the Calder Cup playoffs, which has not been held since 2019 due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Plus−minus (+/−, ±, plus/minus) is a sports statistic used to measure a player's impact, represented by the difference between their team's total scoring versus their opponent's when the player is in the game. Ice hockey In ice hockey, the plus–minus measures a player's goal differential. When a team that is at even-strength or shorthanded scores a goal, all players on the ice on the scoring team will register a plus while all players on the conceding team on the ice will register a minus. When a goal is scored by a team on the power play, no plus or minus points are awarded to either team. Hobey Baker Award
The Hobey Baker Award is an annual award given to the top National Collegiate Athletic Association men's ice hockey player. It has been awarded 41 times. It is named for Hall of Famer Hobey Baker, who played college hockey at Princeton University and died shortly after World War I. The All-Hockey East Teams are composed of all players from teams that are members of Hockey East, an NCAA Division I hockey-only conference.
