David Dreyer
David Dreyer (born May 14, 1974) is a former member of the Georgia House of Representatives and a member of the Democratic Party representing the House District 59. Personal life and education Dreyer was born in Ringgold, Georgia and attended middle school in Roswell. He received a degree in Political Science and Religious Studies at Georgia State University in 2001. Later, Dreyer graduated from Emory University School of Law in 2004 after focusing on constitutional law and voter protection. Career Dreyer is a partner at Dreyer Sterling LLC, a law firm practicing in the areas of trial and litigation. Dreyer was first elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 2016. He currently serves on the Higher Education, Judiciary, and Science and Technology committees in the Georgia House. Ringgold, Georgia
Ringgold is a city in and the county seat of Catoosa County, Georgia, United States. Its population was 3,414 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Chattanooga, Tennessee–GA Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Ringgold was founded in 1846 and incorporated as a city in 1847. It was named after Samuel Ringgold, a hero of the Battle of Palo Alto in the Mexican–American War. Ringgold is where ''The General'' locomotive stopped during the Great Locomotive Chase on April 12, 1862. Ringgold is also home to the historic Ringgold Depot, which still contains bullet marks from the Civil War. The Battle of Ringgold Gap took place on November 27, 1863. Confederate Major General Patrick Cleburne with 4,100 men used the mountain pass known as the Ringgold Gap to stall the advance of Union Major General Joseph Hooker and his troops. Nikema Natassha Williams (born July 30, 1978) is an American politician and political executive serving as the representative for . The district includes almost three-fourths of Atlanta. She was a member of the Georgia State Senate for the 39th district before her House campaign. She is also the chair of the Democratic Party of Georgia. Williams served as one of 16 electors for Georgia in the Electoral College following the 2020 United States presidential election. Early life and education Williams was born in Columbus, Georgia, and raised in Smiths Station, Alabama. 2018 Georgia Gubernatorial Election
The 2018 Georgia gubernatorial election took place on November 6, 2018, concurrently with other statewide and local elections to elect the next governor of the U.S. state of Georgia. Republican Secretary of State Brian Kemp won the election, defeating Democratic former State Representative Stacey Abrams. The primary elections were held on May 22, 2018, and a primary runoff was held on July 24, 2018, between Republican candidates Kemp and Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle; Kemp prevailed. Incumbent Republican Governor Nathan Deal was term-limited and thus could not seek re-election to a third consecutive term. Abrams won the Democratic primary with over 75% of the vote, allowing her to avoid a runoff. Kemp was the sitting Secretary of State at the time of the election.
