David Curtis (rugby Union)
David Michael Curtis (born 10 April 1965) is a former Zimbabwean-born Irish rugby union international. He also played some first-class cricket while at Oxford University. Career Curtis was born in Salisbury, the capital city of Rhodesia, now known as Zimbabwe. He made his debut for Ireland against Wales in the 1991 Five Nations. He represented Ireland at the World Cup later that year, scoring a try in the pool stage against his country of birth and participating in their losing quarter-final team. In all he was capped for Ireland on 13 occasions and scored his only other points courtesy of a drop goal in an international friendly against Namibia. He qualified for Ireland through his father Arthur Bryan who had also represented his country as a wing forward in 1950. David Roderick Curtis
David Roderick Curtis AC MB BS PhD FRACP FAA FRS (3 June 1927 – 11 December 2017) was an Australian pharmacologist and neurobiologist. Born in Melbourne, he was Professor of Pharmacology, Australian National University 1966-1988 and Director and Howard Florey Professor of Medical Research, John Curtin School of Medical Research from 1989 until his retirement in 1992, at which time he was appointed Emeritus Professor and University Fellow. He was elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science in 1965 and the Fellow of the Royal Society, Royal Society in 1968. He served as President of the Australian Academy of Science 1986–90, and was appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia in 1992. References

David Whitney Curtis
David Whitney Curtis (November 14, 1833April 18, 1897) was an American farmer, businessman, and Wisconsin pioneer. He served one term in the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing southern Jefferson County. He also served as a Union Army officer during the American Civil War. Early life Curtis was born on November 14, 1833, in Chelsea, Vermont. He received a common school education in Vermont before coming to the Wisconsin Territory as a child with his parents in 1845. His parents settled on a plot of timber land in what is now the town of Jefferson, in Jefferson County, Wisconsin. David worked to help his father clear land and establish a farm and attended school in the Winters. When he reached adulthood, he apprenticed as a mason and earned a qualification as a teacher. He worked as a teacher, plasterer, and bricklayer through the late 1840s and early 1850s.
