David Cochrane (footballer)
David Stobbie Cochrane (born 30 January 1910, date of death unknown) was a Scottish professional association football, footballer who played as a centre forward. Born in Dunblane, he started his career with Dunblane Rovers before moving to Denny Hibernian F.C., Denny Hibernian in 1927. After scoring 16 goals in the first three months of the 1927–28 season, Cochrane was signed by Football League Third Division North club Nelson F.C., Nelson. He made his debut for the club on 12 November 1927, and scored a consolation goal in the 1–9 defeat away at Bradford City A.F.C., Bradford City, Nelson's heaviest ever defeat in the Football League. Cochrane scored again a week later in the 3–2 win over Halifax Town A.F.C., Halifax Town. He made his final first-team appearance for Nelson on 26 November 1927 in the 0–3 defeat to Bradford Park Avenue A.F.C., Bradford Park Avenue in the First Round of the FA Cup. David Carter Cochrane (born January 31, 1963) is an American former professional utility player for the Seattle Mariners and Chicago White Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). Cochrane was listed as 6'2 with a weight of 180 pounds. He was a switch hitter and threw right-handed. Cochrane attended Troy High School in Fullerton, California then went to California State University, Fullerton. He was drafted by the New York Mets in the 1981 Major League Baseball Draft. Brigadier-General David Bruce Cochrane, MSM, CD is a Royal Canadian Air Force officer. Col. Cochrane assumed command of CFB Trenton, as well as the primary lodger unit for the base, 8 Wing, on February 19, 2010, eleven days after his predecessor, Russell Williams, was formally charged under the Criminal Code with two counts of first-degree murder along with two counts of forcible confinement and two counts of break and enter and sexual assault. Col. Cochrane graduated from Royal Military College of Canada in 1986 with a degree in mechanical engineering, and later qualified as a navigator. In 2009, he deployed overseas for six months and served in the War in Afghanistan as commanding officer of Theatre Support Element Roto 8.
