David Browne (journalist)
David Browne is an American journalist and author. He is currently a senior writer at '' Rolling Stone'', where he has been a contributor since 2008. He was the resident music critic at ''Entertainment Weekly'' between 1990 and 2006. He was an editor at ''Music & Sound Output'' magazine and a music critic at the New York '' Daily News'' before EW. He has written articles for a variety of publications, including ''The New York Times'', ''Spin'', ''The New Republic'' and ''Time'', as well as stories for NPR. David William Browne (born 4 April 1964) is an English cricketer. He played eight first-class matches for Cambridge University Cricket Club between 1985 and 1986, including the 1986 University Match in which he scored the winning runs. David Browne (footballer)
David Eric Browne (born 27 December 1995) is a Papua New Guinean professional footballer who plays as a forward or a midfielder for the Papua New Guinea national team. He is the first Papua New Guinean footballer to play professionally in Europe. Besides New Zealand, he has played in the Netherlands and Finland. Early career Around the age of 10, Browne began playing football as a goalkeeper. He began his football career in the Port Moresby suburb of Kaugere at the Living Light Academy. Between 2007 and 2010, he changed schools three times, attending Korobosea International School from 2007 to 2008, St Josephs International School in 2009, and Port Moresby International School in 2010. David Browne (politician)
David Hugh Browne is an Ulster unionist politician from Northern Ireland. Life Browne was elected to Belfast City Council for the Ulster Unionist Party (UUP) in the Castle electoral area at the 1993 elections. He was then elected to the Northern Ireland Forum in Belfast North in 1996, but was unsuccessful when he stood for the same seat at the 1998 Northern Ireland Assembly election. Browne continued to hold his council seat for over 25 years, along with a variety of other civic posts. He was appointed as High Sheriff of Belfast in 2005 and, in 2008, he was elected as Deputy Lord Mayor of Belfast. At the 2011 local elections, the UUP were reduced to three seats on the council, one of which was held by Browne, who was subsequently appointed as an alderman. In 2012, he was appointed as a Belfast Harbour Commissioner. He was reappointed as an Alderman in 2015. Michael Browne (cardinal)
Michael Cardinal Browne, O.P. (born David Browne, 6 May 1887 – 31 March 1971), was an Irish priest of the Dominican Order and a cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Master General of the Dominicans from 1955 to 1962, and was elevated to the cardinalate in 1962. Early Biography Michael Browne was born in Grangemockler, County Tipperary. Formation Browne joined the Order of Friars Preachers, commonly known as the Dominicans, in 1903. After studying at Rockwell College, the Dominican convent at the Basilica of San Clemente in Rome, and the University of Fribourg, he was ordained to the priesthood on 21 May 1910. Career Browne taught at the Dominican convent in Tallaght, where he was Master of Novices until 1919 when he was appointed professor at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas, ''Angelicum'' in Rome.
