David Brockhoff
John David "Brock" Brockhoff (8 July 1928 – 17 June 2011) was an Australian rugby union identity, a state and national representative who played eight Tests as flanker between 1949 and 1951. He was later coach of the national team from 1974 to 1976, and in 1979. He maintained an active involvement in rugby union in Australia for his entire life. Early life Born at Rose Bay in Sydney, Brockoff was educated at The Scots College where he played in the first XV for his three senior years. He attended St. Andrew's College at the University of Sydney. His family were successful in the flour milling business in Sydney and he was very successful in the biscuit industry. Playing career He attended Sydney University, where gained blues in rugby union through four consecutive years from 1948 to 1951, playing 95 games for the Sydney Uni Football Club before he joined Eastern Suburbs in 1953. Flanker (rugby Union)
Flanker is a position in the sport of rugby union. Each team of 15 players includes two flankers, who play in the Forwards (rugby union), forwards, and are generally classified as either List of rugby union terms#B, blindside or List of rugby union terms#O, openside flankers, numbers 6 and 7 respectively. The name comes from their position in a Scrum (rugby union), scrum in which they 'flank' each set of forwards. They compete for the ball – most commonly in Playing rugby union#Ruck, rucks and Playing rugby union#Maul, mauls. Flankers also assist in pushing in a scrum, but are expected to detach from the scrum as soon as the ball is out to get to the play before the opposition's forwards. Greg Cornelsen
Greg Cornelsen (born 29 August 1952 in Sydney) is a former Australian rugby union footballer, who was capped 25 times for the national team, the Wallabies from 1974 to 1982. His usual position was as flanker. Career Greg played Australian schoolboys rugby in 1969. The team toured South Africa at the invitation of Danie Craven. Greg was one of two boys selected in this team from The Armidale School, the other was Brian Hayward. Cornelsen made his international debut for Australia at just 21 years of age, when the Wallabies took on the All Blacks in 1974 in Brisbane, which resulted in a 16-all draw. He was subsequently capped in the following match in Sydney, in which the All Blacks won 16 to 6. He next played for Australia against Japan in Brisbane, which the Wallabies won 50 to 25.
