David Brine
David Brine (born January 6, 1985) is a Canadian-born Croatian professional ice hockey Centre who last played for Újpesti TE in the Erste Liga. Brine previously played for KHL Medveščak Zagreb of the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. Playing career Brine spent three years with the Halifax Mooseheads of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he scored 100 points as a 20-year-old in 2005–06. He ended the season playing nine playoff games with the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League. In 2006, Brine was a contestant on the Global reality series Making the Cut: Last Man Standing. Though he did not win the series, Brine impressed Mike Keenan enough to earn a tryout with the Florida Panthers. Signed as an undrafted free agent by the Panthers, Brine spent two years with the Panthers minor league affiliates before making his NHL debut with the Panthers on February 2, 2008. The centre (or center in the United States) in ice hockey is a forward (hockey), forward position of a player whose primary Hockey rink#Zones, zone of play is the middle of the ice, away from the sideboards. Quebec Major Junior Hockey League
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (french: Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec; abbreviated ''QMJHL'' in English, ''LHJMQ'' in French) is one of the three major junior ice hockey leagues that constitute the Canadian Hockey League. The league includes teams in the provinces of Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. The current president of the QMJHL is Gilles Courteau. Asia League Ice Hockey ( ja, アジアリーグアイスホッケー; ko, 아시아리그 아이스하키) or ALIH (AL) is an association which operates a professional ice hockey league based in East Asia, with teams from Japan, South Korea, and formerly Russia. The league is headquartered in Japan. At the end of the playoffs every year the winner is awarded the Championship Trophy. The league was formed in 2003 due to declining popularity in the Japan Ice Hockey League and the folding of the Korean Ice Hockey League. Croatian Ice Hockey League
The Croatian Ice Hockey League is the top ice hockey league in Croatia. The league is operated by the Croatian Ice Hockey Federation. History The league was formed in 1991 with the dissolution of Yugoslavia. Until then, Croatian teams played in the Yugoslav Ice Hockey League. The hockey teams Mladost and Medveščak were playing in the first division, while Sisak and Zagreb were playing in the second division of the Yugoslav league. The former two were much stronger, but as financing went away their best players did not stay with the clubs. This resulted in a more balanced competition, in which KHL Zagreb went on to win three times in a row. Medveščak however managed to remerge as the country's dominant team, as it won the competition for eleven straight seasons. Mike Keenan
Michael Edward Keenan (born October 21, 1949) is a Canadian professional hockey coach who most recently coached the Kunlun Red Star of the Kontinental Hockey League. Previously, he served as head coach and/or general manager with several NHL teams between 1984 and 2009. He currently ranks fifth in playoff wins with 96. He is noted for his early career success in coaching Team Canada to win the 1987 Canada Cup round-robin tournament in a thrilling best-of-three series finale against Viktor Tikhonov's Red Army team. Keenan won a Stanley Cup championship as coach of the New York Rangers in 1994. He also won the Gagarin Cup while coaching Metallurg Magnitogorsk in 2014, and he is the only head coach to have won championships in both the NHL and KHL. The Global Television Network (more commonly called Global, or occasionally Global TV) is a Canadian English-language terrestrial television network.
