David Brian Long
David Long (born 21 November 1960 in Coventry) is a former long-distance runner from Great Britain. His personal best in the marathon is 2:10:30, achieved when finishing fourth in the 1991 London Marathon. He represented Great Britain in the men's marathon at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, finishing in 21st position with a time of 2:16:18. Four years later at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain he finished in 39th place (2:20.51) in the men's race. On the circuit, he won the 20 km of Brussels in 1992 – being the first Briton to do so. Coventry ( or ) is a City status in the United Kingdom, city in the West Midlands (county), West Midlands, England. It is on the River Sherbourne. Dam tot Damloop (''Dam to Dam Run'' in English) is an annual road running competition held in North Holland in the Netherlands. It is a Silver Label 10-mile race from Amsterdam to Zaandam. The event was first held as a fun run event in 1985 and elite runners were invited the following year, with world record holder Fernando Mamede and Dutch record holder Carla Beurskens taking the men's and women's titles. In the first five years of its running, Beurskens became a three-time winner of the race – an achievement since matched by Heléna Barócsi, Hellen Kimaiyo, Tegla Loroupe and Lornah Kiplagat. From the 1990s onwards, the elite race has been dominated by East African (particularly Kenyan) runners. Indeed, since 1993 the winners of the men's and women's races have been Kenyan-born on all but six occasions. Granollers Half Marathon
The Granollers Half Marathon (Catalan: ''Mitja Marató de Granollers'') is an annual road running competition over the half marathon distance (21.097 km) which takes place in February in the city of Granollers in Catalonia, Spain. The race is organised by the ''Col·lectiu d'Atletes de Fons'' group and was first held in 1987. The course starts and finishes in Granollers and passes through Les Franqueses del Vallès and La Garriga. It is among the more popular half marathon events in Spain with around 10,000 runners taking part in the day's events..
