David Michael Bowen (born 3 October 1971) is a former English cricketer. Bowen was a right-handed batsman. He was born in Edmonton, London. Bowen represented the Middlesex Cricket Boardin 3 List A matches. These came against Cumberland in the 1999 NatWest Trophy and Wiltshire and Sussex in the 2000 NatWest Trophy. In his 3 List A matches, he scored 63 runs at a batting average of 21.00, with a high score of 29. Sussex County Cricket Club
Sussex County Cricket Club is the oldest of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Sussex. Batting Average (cricket)
In cricket, a player's batting average is the total number of runs they have scored divided by the number of times they have been out, usually given to two decimal places. Since the number of runs a player scores and how often they get out are primarily measures of their own playing ability, and largely independent of their teammates, batting average is a good metric for an individual player's skill as a batter (although the practice of drawing comparisons between players on this basis is not without criticism). 2000 NatWest Trophy
The 2000 NatWest Trophy was the 20th and last NatWest Trophy before being renamed as the Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy for the 2001 season. It was an English limited overs county cricket tournament which was held between 2 May and 26 August 2000. The tournament was won by Gloucestershire who defeated Warwickshire by 22 runs in the final at Lord's. 1999 NatWest Trophy
The 1999 NatWest Trophy was the 19th NatWest Trophy. It was an English limited overs county cricket tournament which was held between 4 May and 29 August 1999. The tournament was won by Gloucestershire who defeated Somerset by 50 runs in the final at Lord's. Format For the 1999 season, radical changes were made to the structure and format of the competition. Each side's innings was reduced from 60 overs per side to 50, in order to bring the county one-day game in line with the format of One Day Internationals. This in turn reduced the number of overs a bowler could bowl in an innings, down from 12 to 10. The number of teams participating was also greatly expanded.
