David Barniville
David Barniville is an Irish judge who has been the President of the Irish High Court (Ireland), High Court since July 2022. He formerly practiced as a barrister and was the chair of the Bar Council of Ireland. He served as a judge of the High Court (Ireland), High Court between 2017 and 2021 and was a judge of the Court of Appeal (Ireland), Court of Appeal from 2021 to 2022. He is an member of the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal. Early life Barniville is from Dublin. He was born to Geraldine Barniville, Geraldine and Harry (both international tennis players), while his grandfather Henry Barniville was a Seanad Éireann, senator and surgeon. The Moriarty Tribunal, officially called the Tribunal of Inquiry into certain Payments to Politicians and Related Matters, was an Irish Tribunal of Inquiry established in 1997 into the financial affairs of politicians Charles Haughey and Michael Lowry. It has revealed significant tax evasion by these and other politicians and leading businessmen. As a consequence, the tax authorities have recovered millions of euro in settlements and penalties from many individuals. Michael Lowry
Michael Lowry (born 13 March 1953) is an Irish Independent politician who has served as a Teachta Dála (TD) since 1987, currently for the Tipperary constituency. He previously served as Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications from 1994 to 1996 and Chairman of the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party from 1993 to 1994. Lowry is a former Chairman of the Fine Gael party and was Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications between 1994 and 1996. He resigned from his ministry in some controversy. Donal Gerard O'Donnell (born 25 October 1957) is an Irish judge who is the Chief Justice of Ireland since October 2021. He has served as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Ireland since January 2010. He practised as a barrister between 1982 and 2010, specialising in commercial law and public law. Early life He was born in Belfast, in 1957. The Tribunal of Inquiry into the Beef Processing Industry, also known as the Beef Tribunal, was established on 31 May 1991, chaired by Mr. Justice Liam Hamilton. It was set up to inquire into malpractice in the Irish beef processing industry, mainly centred on Goodman International, owned and controlled by Larry Goodman. It also examined accusations of special dispensations given by the then Minister for Industry and Commerce, Albert Reynolds, to Goodman.
