David Dwight Baldwin
David Dwight Baldwin (November 26, 1831 – June 16, 1912) was a businessman, educator, and biologist on Maui in the Hawaiian islands. Within biology he is known for his contributions to the study of Hawaiian land snails, part of malacology. Life David Dwight Baldwin was born November 26, 1831 in Honolulu. His father was early missionary doctor Dwight Baldwin (1798–1886), and his mother was Charlotte Fowler Baldwin (1805–1873). After a few years living in Waimea, the family moved to the island of Maui around 1837. From 1841 through 1851, Baldwin attended Punahou School in Honolulu, and graduated from Yale in 1857. He married Lois Gregory Morris (1837–1924) on October 7 of that year at Bridgeport, Connecticut. The couple returned to the Kingdom of Hawaii in 1858, and had nine children, although one died young. David Baldwin (11 December 1921 – 7 July 2012) was a lawn bowls international competitor for New Zealand. Personal life Born in Auckland, Baldwin was educated at New Plymouth Boys' High School and worked for 43 years at the New Plymouth City Council as a civil engineer. In early days he excelled in numerous sports including cricket, tennis, table tennis and soccer. David George Baldwin (born March 30, 1938) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. Life and career Born in Tucson, Arizona, on March 30, 1938, Baldwin pitched for three years for the University of Arizona. In the 1959 College World Series he beat Fresno State 5 to 1 on a two-hitter and lost the final game of the series 5 to 3 to Oklahoma State. He signed with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1959 and pitched on three pennant winners in his first four years of pro ball. Later, he was a relief specialist for the Washington Senators (1966–69), Milwaukee Brewers (1970), and Chicago White Sox (1973). In 176 games he compiled a record of 6 wins and 11 losses, with 23 saves and an ERA of 3.08. The combined batting average of opponents against him was .234. Charles David Baldwin (born March 22, 1955) is an American football coach who is currently the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Northern Colorado. Baldwin served as the head football coach at California State University, Northridge from 1995 to 1996 and at San Jose State University from 1997 to 2000. He was in the interim head coach at Colorado State University for 2014 Las Vegas Bowl. David Baldwin (historian)
David Baldwin ( 22 December 1946 (?) – 4 April 2016) was a British historian, author and former university lecturer, who lived near Leicester, England. Baldwin specialised in late Medieval history—"the great medieval families of the Midlands"—and wrote several books about the people and events of the Wars of the Roses. Before retiring from teaching, Baldwin had previously worked as a lecturer at both the University of Leicester and the University of Nottingham. In 1986, over 25 years before the 2012 excavation and the discovery of the king's body, he predicted that Richard III's remains would be found at Greyfriars, Leicester. In his 2010 book, ''Robin Hood: The English Outlaw Unmasked'', Baldwin argued that the 'real' Robin Hood was Roger Godberd, a disinherited supporter of Simon de Montfort.
