David Bailey is an American football linebacker for the Stanford Cardinal football, Stanford Cardinal. High school career Bailey attended Mater Dei High School (Santa Ana, California), Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California. As a senior in 2021, he had 54 tackles and 15.5 sacks and was named ''The Orange County Register Orange County defensive player of the year. He played in the 2022 All-American Bowl (high school football), All-American Bowl. Bailey committed to Stanford University to play college football. College career Bailey entered his true freshman year at Stanford in 2022 as a starter. Overall he played in 11 games with nine starts and had 46 tackles and 2.5 sacks. He returned to Stanford as a starter his sophomore year in 2023. Mater Dei High School (Santa Ana, California)
Mater Dei High School is a private, Catholic, co-educational secondary school in Santa Ana, California. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange. Mater Dei is known for its strong sports programs, especially in football, and for its multiple graduates who have won the Heisman Trophy. As of 2022, the school has had 23 Gatorade Players of the Year. The Football team plays in the Southern Section Division 1, and most recently won the CIF State Championship during the 2021 season. The All-American Bowl is a high school football all-star game, held annually at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Typically played in January, the All-American Bowl is played between all-star teams representing the eastern and western United States.
