David-Alexandre Beauregard
David-Alexandre Beauregard (born January 28, 1976) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played 14 years in the minor leagues. Early years Beauregard was born in Montreal, Quebec. From a very young age, Beauregard had been a scorer. When he was seven years old, he scored 230 goals in 43 games. As a junior playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Beauregard scored 224 points in 190 games; however, in his draft year he was only 5 feet 10 inches and weighed 165 pounds - too small to be selected early in the National Hockey League (NHL) draft. Despite his size, the San Jose Sharks had shown an interest in Beauregard and, on June 28, 1994, the Sharks selected him in the 11th round of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, 271st overall. Winger, in the game of ice hockey, is a forward position of a player whose primary zone of play is along the outer playing areas. They typically flank the centre forward. Originally the name was given to forward players who went up and down the sides of the rink. Wingers generally have the least defensive responsibilities out of any position on the ice, however they are still tasked with defensive duties such as forechecking duties or covering the point in the defensive zone. Nowadays, there are different types of wingers in the game — out-and-out goal scorers, checkers who disrupt the opponents, and forwards who work along the boards and in the corners. The Gatineau Olympiques are a junior ice hockey, major junior ice hockey team based in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada, that plays in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). Port Huron Beacons
The Port Huron Beacons were a minor league professional ice hockey team in the United Hockey League (UHL) that played from 2002 to 2005. The team was based in Port Huron, Michigan, and played at the McMorran Arena. The team's first head coach was Brad Jones, a former National Hockey League player and head coach of the UHL's B.C. Icemen. The team's first general manager was Kevin J. Carr from 2001 to 2004. Jones resigned in February 2003 with a 24–24–5 record and was replaced by Bruce Ramsey for the remainder of the season. Ramsey returned as head coach for the 2003–04 season and led the team to the semifinals in the playoffs, but was fired in the following offseason. The Flint Generals were a minor professional ice hockey team based in Flint, Michigan. They were a member of the International Hockey League and played their home games at Perani Arena and Event Center. The Generals won two league championship Colonial Cups in the Colonial Hockey League and United Hockey League. The Danbury Trashers were a United Hockey League (UHL) professional ice hockey team located in Danbury, Connecticut, first established in 2004 as an expansion team. The team was named for its owner's business in waste management; James Galante purchased the franchising rights for $500,000 and named his 17-year-old son, A. J., president and general manager. As part of the franchising agreement, Galante invested an additional $1.5 million to upgrade the team's home arena, Danbury Ice Arena, from a 750-seat facility to a 3,000-seat venue. The United Hockey League (UHL), originally known as the Colonial Hockey League from 1991 to 1997 and last known as the International Hockey League from 2007 to 2010, was a low-level minor professional ice hockey league, with teams in the United States and Canada.
