Daventry Town F.C. is a football club based in the town of Daventry, Northamptonshire, England, formed in 1886. They are members of the . History The club was established in 1886 as a local-town club playing in the Northampton Town League. The club moved to the Northants Combination in 1987, and their emergence began under manager Willie Barrett, who led the club to successive championships in the Combination First and Premier divisions. In 1989–90, the club joined the United Counties League Division One. Since joining the United Counties League, they have won promotion to the Premier Division on three occasions, but have also been relegated twice. The club started at The Hollow Ground in the town, but having won promotion at the first attempt were denied because their new Elderstubbs ground was not ready in time. Daventry ( , historically ) is a market town and civil parish in the West Northamptonshire unitary authority in Northamptonshire, England, close to the border with Warwickshire. Southern League Division One Central
The Southern League is a men's football competition featuring semi-professional clubs from the South and Midlands of England. Together with the Isthmian League and the Northern Premier League it forms levels seven and eight of the English football league system. The structure of the Southern League has changed several times since its formation in 1894, and currently there are 84 clubs which are divided into four divisions. Thomas James (born 17 October 1988) is an English footballer who plays as a defender. Playing career Watford Following some impressive displays for Stratford Town, James was signed by Football League Championship side Watford on 5 August 2011. Tom played his one and only game for Watford in an FA Cup tie against Bradford City on 7 January 2012, he came on as an 85th-minute substitute for Mark Yeates, Watford won the game 4–2. Dior Thomas Angus (born 18 January 1994) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for club Altrincham. Angus began his career in non-League football, playing for Solihull Moors, Leamington (on loan), Banbury United (on loan), Kidderminster Harriers, Worcester City (on loan), Daventry Town, Stratford Town and Redditch United. Michael Anthony Bryan (born 21 February 1990) is a footballer who plays as a winger for Southall having signed for them in late 2022. Bryan previously spent eight years with Harrow Borough. Born and raised in England, he is eligible to play for Northern Ireland through his ancestry and has been selected for the latter at under-19, under-21 and full international levels. Paul Lamb (footballer)
Paul Lamb (born 12 September 1974) was an English footballer. His last club was Daventry Town, who he agreed to become player/coach of in the 2009 off season and stayed there until 2011, when he became Assistant Manager at Banbury United F.C. Lamb was born in Plumstead, London and began his career as a trainee with Northampton Town, making three league appearances in the 1991–92 season whilst still a trainee. Paul is now a physical education teacher at Malcolm Arnold Academy in Northampton. After being released by Northampton he joined non-league Dunstable, subsequently playing for Buckingham Town (twice), Bedworth United and Wealdstone before joining Boreham Wood in December 2001. George Henry Thomson (born 19 May 1992) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for side Harrogate Town. Career Born in Melton Mowbray, Thomson started his career at Nottingham Forest as a 12 year old in 2004 and was in their academy for six years. After leaving Forest he had an 18-month spell at Glenn Hoddle's academy in Spain and Jerez Industrial, but made his competitive footballing debut for Conference North side Hinckley United against Gloucester City on 3 December 2011. Stuart Scott Hendrie (born 1 November 1989) is an English semi-professional footballer who plays for side Walsall Wood, as a striker. He previously played for a number of non-League clubs in the Midlands area, and made seven appearances in the Football League for Morecambe. Howard Lee Forinton (born 18 September 1975) is a former professional footballer who played as a striker. Forinton made 65 appearances and scored 14 goals in the Football League playing for Birmingham City, Plymouth Argyle, Peterborough United and Torquay United. Warren Donald
Warren Ramsay Donald (born 7 October 1964) is an English footballer who played as a midfielder in the Football League in the 1980s and 1990s. Career Born in Hillingdon, he joined West Ham United as an apprentice, making two League appearances for them. His debut came on 26 December 1983 as a substitute against Southampton, whilst his final game was the last match of the 1983-84 season, against Everton. After an initial loan spell at Northampton Town, he joined the Cobblers on a permanent basis during 1985–86. Donald went on to play 188 League games for them in total, and was a member of the side that won promotion from the Fourth Division in 1986-87.
